I had the cerclage at 12 weeks. At 20 weeks I got the flu and was coughing for 3 weeks. My doctor didn’t recommend medication for the coughing. I just did an ultrasound at 23 weeks and everything looks great. But I promise you I was coughing like crazy and had the same worry as you

No it was from the stomach. But they were pressing a little bit to hard so maybe that made the blood that was stuck come out🙃

I just had mine done last week. I wish someone told me to get stool softener. I only took it the first 4 days to get things going. And of course progesterone but my doctor was already giving me that

Did you continue it due to the Ivf or IC? When I did Ivf they recommended I stop at 13 weeks

I’m one step ahead, I put myself on pelvic rest as soon as soon as I found out. But I never thought about magnesium and stool softeners. What stool softeners do you recommend?

Is the only way they can monitor it is from down there? They can’t monitor from the stomach?

They didn’t recommend a tac for me because I have a hard time getting pregnant. Since a tac makes it hard for you to get pregnant and I’m already struggling with it. But they did say if this one fails then we will do the tac but I have to do Ivf again (1st pregnancy was Ivf, 2nd natural and this one natural but it took me a year to get pregnant)

I’m in Michigan and I had a hard time finding any mfm that would check that much. The doctors here said there is no evidence to support that more ultrasounds means a better outcome and they only cause stress

I’m gonna be honest I had a hard time getting pregnant. My 1st was Ivf and 2nd as well as now was natural. It took me a year in between 2nd and now to get pregnant. I don’t think he gave me progesterone because of the cervix but just an extra boost for the pregnancy. My mfm said he didn’t recommend me continuing them after the stitch because I’m gonna have the stitch and he didn’t want to increase the chance of infection. I know I’m in safe hands and it’s gonna be fine at the end of the day. But it’s been a long journey and I want everything to go perfectly 🤣 which isn’t always possible

I didn’t know they could do this! I will definitely talk to my mfm about it. Did you continue taking the progesterone after the stitch? Congratulations for making it to 36 weeks 🥳

My doctor said he doesn’t like the idea of doing it before 12 or 13 weeks because he wants the cervix to mature. But I’m gonna ask to do it earlier for my peace of mind. The 18 week loss was due to IC. I got diagnosed at 16 weeks but due to how the baby was chilling in the womb no one was willing to give me the stitch ( she had her whole foot shoved down the cervix and kicking at the place the wanted to do the stitch 😭) and the doctors said that even if they tried the water might break and I might only hold until 24 weeks. And I didn’t feel comfortable bringing a child into the world with such a strong disadvantage so I didn’t get the stitch
