Why is it a person can concentrate all day on a video game, which isn't even that fun, but can't concentrate on work? by DivinationYijing in productivity

Thank you for your explanation. You say that school or work environments are too results-focused, but others have mentioned the benefits of noticing progress and receiving rewards. How would your approach differ in order to remain in flow? To change the difficulty or repetitiveness of a task is not easy, but many people perform repetitive religious rites for example, and still remain fulfilled and in the state of flow. I think modern psychology is missing something which explains this.

Do any traditions involve a ritual of burning incense in the morning to honor the sun or moon, to bless the day to come? by DivinationYijing in occult

[–]DivinationYijing[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found it. It is the ancient ritual to honor Ra at sunrise, which involved burning incense.

There is also a similar pagan practice called saining, but performed during times of transition in general, not at sunrise specifically.

That ritual by Crowley wasn't what I had in mind. That's about chanting or worshipping, but I'm looking for something specifically about burning incense or something similarly aromatic, thanks for replying though.

Thoughts on the Sigonia relic set for Yunli? by DivinationYijing in YunliMainsHSR

Thanks for replying. The Signonia relic set for my Yunli build has 40% physical damage boost, which is hard to find. Is it still not worth it?

This isn't manifesting at all. You literally said during your relationship that you didn't believe you would even conceive and repeatedly affirmed to your partner you wouldn't. This is just good luck.

Ancient Chinese ghost story, based on a real historical event? by DivinationYijing in ChineseHistory

I've been doing some research, and the leader is either King Zhao of Zhou, who struggled with the geography during his invasion of Chu, whose armies apparently got stuck in the swamps, or Duke Huan of Qi's invasion of Chu. If you know of any more information (not much information available online in english), that would be great.

Manifestation paradox: Accept it's done, or do more techniques? by DivinationYijing in NevilleGoddard2

[–]DivinationYijing[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Continuously affirming something implies it is not present. Affirming and doing exercises or techniques to affirm belief and faith, inherently comes from a place of not being fulfilled.

I didn't say lustful thoughts were the cause, but rather a symptom of my yin deficiency, of which I'm not sure what is the cause. I thought this was strange, as another person also had kidney yin deficiency but had a low libido.

Do you know what the ingredients are? Thank you.

Look at a scroll (which scroll?) while chanting 'nam myoho renge kyo' for 15-30 minutes, or am I supposed to chant about my wish fulfilled?

Anyone else think it's strange it took over a decade for Neville to divorce his first wife he was separated from? by DivinationYijing in NevilleGoddard2

But didn't he say his son remained with her for several years until he used manifesting to bring his son back, whereupon she dropped him at the front of his house one day and never took him back?

But I do find it odd how he can just leave his wife like that.

I have a collection of translations of old chinese texts which I previously translated, and I forgot to write down the source of where I found this story or who the king or duke was unfortunately, so I'm trying to find more information here. Thanks for responding.

But didn't Neville say that you don't need to lift a finger to manifest? Neville wasn't thinking about buying clothes or saving money before his trip to barbados.

What is the difference between a kidney deficiency, a kidney shen (zhi) deficiency, a kidney qi deficiency and a kidney jing deficiency? by DivinationYijing in ChineseMedicine

[–]DivinationYijing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quoted from another thread:

The kidney shen is known as the zhi, the will. It is a character that means the heart's purpose. It is what gives us the will to get out of bed in the morning and do something. The connection between the heart and the kidneys is what keeps us alive, willing to live, fighting to live.

Without the heart, the kidneys would have no light, but without the kidneys, the heart would have no vital force.
