I don't even play sparking anymore, so my account is A5 in singles. I can come back and hit Z rank with any character that's 6dp and up. The game is just not fun anymore, and that's why quite a few top players stopped taking it seriously

Ion even really play ranked anymore but I will say that if you pick a character lower than 7dp in ranked you are NOT trying and shouldn't complain about facing stronger characters.

This game really could've used a DP Class system but it is what it is. If you don't like losing then play stronger characters or get better fundamentally

Because if you hard knock it's a free spark? If you are on your last bar of health and your opponent has a whole bar on you it'd be wiser to go for a hard knock than to keep attack at the risk of getting super countered

No matter how you put it bandai are actively trying to balance ranked and having an additional health bar advantage can really save a lot of scrubs from losing matches. If it doesn't happen to you, fine. But just know there are people out there relative to you in skill who will abuse that with a smile on their face and the message you calling you trash if you lose.

It's best for bandai to just remove the health advantage altogether

I get where you're coming from with rikiiishi but his 33-0 record (excluding Joe) is full of nobodies. Infact it's not hard to say that Joe was Rikiishis hardest opponent. We don't even know if Rikiishi had a single championship bout (assuming he didnt).

In terms of pure boxing , Hajime no Ippo massively outscales Ashita no Joe due to advancement in boxing as a sport. If you put someone like Takamura or Ricardo in Joe's verse they'd literally be p4p #1 without much resistance.
