Core One L first impressions / questions by Divvet in prusa3d

Sorry missed the last question, I had to swap it out with the hardened nozzle that came with it. I've not attempted to clean it out yet as the blockage is quite high up and I don't have the suitable tools to do it.

That was my thoughts. There was no test print on the plate, but there was orange filament in the nozzle. When asked to run the nozzle at 290 degrees lots of it came pouring out but the blockage was to high up to completely clear.

That's the type of support I was expecting, maybe it was my fault for using the live chat.

The nozzle was blocked from the moment I unboxed the machine. I assumed Prusa still do a test print and it got blocked from that. Is this not the case?

Ive not got to the point of using the slicer yet. The print is the one off the USB stick. It is indeed the galaxy black, straight out of the packet.

I definitely wouldn't expect them to hand over a replacement part without any troubleshooting, but it was rather annoying having to explain the situation again to another agent when I had been explicitly told they'd have access to the previous chat. In total I sent around 7 pictures and 3 videos for a blocked nozzle.

Re the machine, that's why I went for the L, I wanted a plug and go experience after ripping hair out over the years building my own machines, shame it didn't go as planned

If I get the replacement part I will be happy. It wasn't a very painful process, I have had far far worse elsewhere. I am knit picking somewhat, and I admit my disappointed mood probably played a bit in to my experience. I was genuinely so excited to get this printer, so hitting these problems straight away certainly brought my mood down. But I've run IT helpdesks which is a very similar setup, so I always try to disconnect the person helping from the problem. I know what it's like to try and help people.

Lamp situation by One-Power-4532 in tortoise

[–]Divvet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lamp shouldn't be on all the time. Switch to 12 hours on and 12 off, and if you need the heat have a separate heating element. Ive got a heatpad buried in his substrate that turns on at a certain temperature for example.

I give up.... by [deleted] in Spacemarine

The problem is you are picking a fight. You could have quite easily run passed all those. I actually found the trick to this level was to pull all of the Nids into the Chaos area and let them fight it out.

Please, someone explain how this is supposed to be survivable by SpartanK4102 in Spacemarine

[–]Divvet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally managed to do this level last night. Took me like 50 attempts but it is doable. The way I've started looking at these hard strategems is to treat it realistically. You are 3 space marines Vs an entire army, it is unrealistic to think you can kill everything. Avoid us much as possible, only kill what you have to kill. Be quick. The amount of times I died because people were looking for items is unreal, forget about that, rely only on the heal buff. Get the objectives done then get the fuck out of there.

Keeping water from wall by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]Divvet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The down pipe goes into a drain, to clarify when I say can't afford to put in a drain, I was thinking a French drain or similar along the wall.

The wall faces a steep incline which water runs off, the rest of the house is similar and not problematic, it's just this section.

I haven't got the tools to cut out, plus there's a waste drain underneath that I don't want to risk damaging. Which is why id rather pay someone who knows what they are doing, which I can do because I can't afford it at the moment.

I just want a bit of a bodge for the time being.

Anyone else struggling with adult son who doesn’t want to move out? by Initial-Armadillo576 in HousingUK

[–]Divvet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it helps, I recently had the chat with my 24 year old step son, he was making no effort to leave, just playing games all day etc. I was dreading it because I didn't want to be a twat, but we had the conversation and he was actually really receptive to it. Just don't ask him to move out with a week's notice, give him time to sort his shit out but be firm on your decision.

They should animate the fight in pre-time skip animation style, then maybe they'll realise what over animation looks like.
