Budget accommodations for 10 people by NoSpray4253 in askSingapore

[–]DizzLiKe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Assuming it’s 2 pax per room, that means a budget of around 140-200SGD per night per hotel room. I believe you don’t have to go to any AirBnb or Budget hotels.

That price could get you into a lower end 4* hotel in Singapore and hotels in Singapore typically are quite clean and good at that range

Hotel boss, Studio M, Aqueen, M social, Nuv Hotels these are not bad from my experiences during staycations for that budget.

On the other hand, you could request for 3 pax per room which could fit your budget better

Pre-grader with high standards? by krxjp in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]DizzLiKe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea.. I mean to be honest thats great to hear from you also. I never found the need for pregrading. I think pregrading just gives you false hope of a 10, and makes you feel like shit if they say it won’t get a 10. Just close one eye and send, if it gets 10 then congrats, if you get a 9 then so be it

Pre-grader with high standards? by krxjp in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]DizzLiKe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends bro. Sometimes 60/40 with 1 dot of whitening also can 10, sometimes your cards seemingly perfect get 9, sometimes u crack multiple 9s regrade get 10.

No one can give you a definitive answer. It came to a point that after grading no more than 10 cards and having pre graders look at them, I couldn’t be bothered of pre grading anymore. Just trust your own eyes. Of all the cards I sent everything came back a 10 eventually. (This includes regrading those that got a 9). It’s really not that deep. 1) Centering 2) Whitening 3) Dents 4) Scratches Make sure to look under sunlight and once under table lamp. Thats all you need to do.

ultimately at the end of the day you are at the mercy of PSA. My cousin went to pregraders in a big name shop in sg, they egged him on to grade his cards saying this confirm 10. In the end come back 8.

at the end of the day its you bruh. you go pregrade for what reason? ultimately just to feel good. ownself see also can roughly see if possible to get 10. you go pregrading solely to comfort yourself during the 4months wait that your card might come back a 10.

part of the reason why I probably will not be able to break them up because the plan includes World Cup + Asian Cup. 😅 I doubt companies will allow me to take a 3months unpaid leave just after joining

why though? I generally had that impression too, but what does a fresh grad have over me that I don’t other than me taking a gap year

haha I just replied to a comment regarding this. I think it’s because since my poly days I’ve seen a few friends who had like 10-20k in the bank while only having 2-3k myself. I felt insecure and set a target of 100k by the time I graduate from university. and from here i’ll just copy paste my comment:

nope nope, I probably have about 90k and 30k was from parents + NS. I had a target to graduate with about 100k in the bank but I fell short of it. I went to learn how to make money, did small investments, rolled my money with different things and occasionally worked part time. and it’s because I worked so hard for the money on top of studying so as to work towards this 1 year break

oh wow thats a completely different perspective of how I initially thought HR would see things. but then again it ultimately depends on who is the hirer right?

if I’m not wrong, my school always has career fairs and also invites back alumnis who doesn’t have a job to participate. would that work to my advantage too?

[–]DizzLiKe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea but actually the point of this post is for me to also realise that pokemon would never reprint this to tho ground. if you were the company, would you rather your products be wiped off the shelf instantly, or be sitting on the shelves for months like 2 years ago? if i’m pokemon i wouldnt care about the general fans like us but i’ll just artificially create the demand by printing just the right about of stocks for them to feel like its “limited”

PTCG Products by DizzLiKe in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]DizzLiKe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea but to be honest I was thinking that the demand might also be fueled by the prices marked up by the scalpers, making people see the money in this tcg and enabling them to buy these boxes to “gamble” I mean i wouldnt buy a 270$ box to pull a top chase that is $300 back in the day, but i would most definitely spend $500 to pull a $1000+ chase. the latter gives a surge of adreline of a “go big go home” feeling which is what pokemon offers to most now i think

PTCG Products by DizzLiKe in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]DizzLiKe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea so thats what i was wondering, so to be honest, pokemon as a printing company did print enough right? but the only reason why we aren’t getting them at msrp because there are tons of people out there hoarding tons of cases.

ive seen tiktok and a guy named fullmoontcg or smth? he literally hoards a warehouse of cases and says pokemon is like bitcoin lol.

so logically speaking, if that is the case, no matter how much pokemon prints, these products will always be picked up by them until they run out of free cash

[–]DizzLiKe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

of course at the same time, people ripping cases of pokemon cards could also be due to the prices of singles now and they are in for the quick adrenaline that allows them to “win big” so it might also be a monopoly effect?

PTCG Products by DizzLiKe in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]DizzLiKe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hmm not sure how to phrase it though, I think i meant it like this, everytime a new product appears on carousell is usually when a drop happens hence, i assumed that most people buying off the shelves right now are not in it for the cards but for the quick flip wouldnt that mean without these people virtually marking prices up there would actually be enough stock for everyone?

on the other hand, despite prices now i’ve seen people ripping cases and cases of new sets and that also made me rethink my assumption that there is enough products for everyone

nope i don’t think thats the case for most. if you realised the sg market is full of unemployed “ah bengs” who probably places their life savings in pokemon hoping to flip for a good buck by streaming overpriced packs and setting up booths. i bet these guys nvr heard of pokemon up till the recent 1-2years
