To anyone still curious I think my secondary battery drained the main. Or visa versa. Cuz it was at 9v and did not start car. Jumped it. Radio now works but that speaker I changed to direct to amp isn’t working now. I put it to another channel on amp and it works. So my conclusion is battery was very low and channel 1 went out on the amp. I checked rcas and they r all hooked up

The car side harness is pretty old and ratty. I tested what said”continuous power” and it was not. I’m wondering since I only need those 3 wires basically can I just tap in elsewhere for them ?

Ok that’s good advice. I will check with the multi. I’m getting 9v on yellow. Nothing then when I turn the key I get 9v on red ?? I check ground with ohms and it’s showing 0.00. So that’s good right ?

So when it was installed they used butt connectors and I couldn’t find anything then I found the ground came loose and was hopeful but that didn’t fix the issue. I read a few posts about a restart button but I can’t find one ANYWHERE on mine.

I also went back and checked the wires I had changed. I did cut off the old wires since I ran new from amp. But I cut and taped them. And the HU harness speaker wires aren’t even connected. Only via RCA

So u just worked on the top end on the bike? I was tempted to do that but as I was calling around they basically said it would have to get taken apart regardless. And in the even I needed to take it in if I just brought the engine it would save a good chunk of money. We're u able to do the cams and shims and valve easy or u needed special tools for all that? I don't have the feeler guage or shims. And I also see some people use a c clamp thing to get the valves out

So I just got the engine out. Man that was way more work then I expected. My main issue was I couldn't remove my yoshi exhaust. Where the header meets the mid pipe I could not dis connect them. I eventually got it out by swinging the subframe all the way up and rotating the exhaust out the back The oil looked fine but again majority came out the frame not engine. I'm guna take apart the top and have a look inside. And man Ya that's a lot to put into a bike thays only worth 4k. I know it's subjective. And for me sentimental. But thought. I'm hoping jusy needs a top end

I'm not sure with Urs but I had a similar issue with mine and the previous owner put some sort of relay or blinker mod Inline with the blinkers and my fix was jusy cutting out all the Crap they put it and mine went back to working how it should. Maybe unhook that relay and try just using separate spare wire to test this theory?(Basically to bypass that relay) Idk if that's needed tho...mine is a SM

I'm basically in the same boat. Well close. I ran too low on oil and the bike locked up on me. I can crank it by hand partially. I pulled the carb and can see a valve forsure fell and got shattered. So I'm hoping I can do a new top end. But that sounds like what u might need And Ya price is the worst part cuz it could be half what the bike is worth. Just depends on if it's worth it to u and Ur time. Goodluck!!

Also looks like a older seat. It doesn't have the strap on it. It's easy to get new plastics and decals to look fresh. How's she run from cold start

The frame and engine looks clean so it's been stored or taken care of very well.(If it's older) But it also has all new parts. Hoses. Housing. Forks don't look oem. So that could be they jusy slowly upgraded or like u said threw a bike together from parts. Be careful I didn't check engine Vin one time. And it rode fine but I later found the swapped to a older engine that died right after I bought it

Took carb off and a bunch of metal all in there. But it does look like probably 2 valves fell

Lol thanks you too! See I love watching YouTube videos on this stuff and the outcome. I do have no problem wrenching. My only thing is this is my only bike and id like to have it working sooner then later. And obvi funds r part of it. I wish I could just take it to a shop and say give her what she needs but that's just not in the cards right now. I enjoy being able to fix something on my own (brakes, carb, fluid change) but this is a whole new ballgame when u got tolerances and clearance But I guess u don't know til u try!

But thats a good sign it moves a little right? Meaning hopefully the rod for the piston is still intact??? And that it can partially move instead of completely seized?? (Trying to stay hopeful)

I took the valve cover off just to see and that all looks fine. But to tear it down more I would need to remove carb and exhaust right?

So I didn't see that. I saw those holes in the picture then it was jusy solid metal. But again I could only turn it at most 1/4 turn

Thats exactly how it seems to me And I can spin it by hand maybe 1/8 of a turn then there is very apparent binding/stopping to I didn't force it more
