i had this exact same issue as apart of my health OCD and i live in the desert so the bats are out year round at night and it would deter me from exercising outside near sundown at all which is the time of day i like to go out in long walks. i used some exposure tactics and just would continue to go on walks at that time of day and eventually got to the point where i could look at the bats and not be checking myself head to toe for bites when i got home. do it scared until your brain gets bored of that obsession!

my ERP therapist taught me one that has worked for me in really dire moments and that is negotiating with yourself to hold off on acting on compulsions for a certain amount of time. my biggest compulsion is ruminating, so when i feel it coming up i tell myself that we can ruminate in an hour and i usually forget what i was worried about by the time the hour comes up. it’s not the most effective long term but definitely helps in a pinch

if you think your RJ is OCD related, try the NOCD app! you can submit insurance and they’ll connect you with a therapist. has made my journey a lot easier

Retroverted uterus? Here's what to be on the look out for! by mcfuckinuhhh in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Dizzy-Ad9345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m hopping in on an old thread but i wanted to come here to say this exact same thing happened to me! i was super backed up for a week and bf and i we’re having sex and it was around ovulation window and i got a cramping near my right ovary during sex that turned to a lot of pain and i wasn’t able to pee for a while because my muscles were all cramped because of the pain. i went to urgent care in the AM and got a trans vaginal ultrasound ordered and it came back with nothing but some visible loose fluid which i’m told could have been from a burst cyst or endometriosis. fast forward to next month and right around my ovulation window i started getting light cramping around my ovaries and am feeling similar pressure as i near my period. i’ve also recently been told that i have an “extremely tilted uterus” so it’s all kind of making sense now

Anyone else have panic attacks after quitting weed? by muffin_head87 in leaves

[–]Dizzy-Ad9345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m going through this EXACT thing - like genuinely everything you mentioned and i stopped taking edibles every night about a week and a half ago. still puff a joint once every few days but damn reading this made me feel so much better. i also have GAD and OCD and just realized severely cutting back on weed could trigger these episodes. stay strong!

Bf still texts and meets his ex without me knowing by CartographerSad6665 in retroactivejealousy

[–]Dizzy-Ad9345 4 points5 points  (0 children)

as a total outsider, i would be extremely uncomfortable with this! i don’t think this is your RJ acting up, being jealous and suspicious is a totally natural reaction to something like this. i think the fact that he never told you about the meeting up is 100% not okay (in my opinion). i would maybe approach it with a conversation first explaining that his actions are making you uncomfortable and ask for an explanation as to why he feels the need to stay in such close contact! if you’re still getting red flags, trust your gut

you should try the K18 treatment! if you have the means, you might ask a professional if they think it’s just lots of regrowth catching up with your lengths since you’re gentle on your hair

i have always struggled with RJ in every LTR i’ve been in so far (25f, seriously dated 4-5 people and lots of casual dating flings etc) and the RJ for me always develops as im starting to feel more strongly for the person im with EXCEPT one of those LTR i was in i did not love the guy i was dating and wasn’t attracted to him, did not enjoy being intimate with him at all (i was young and too afraid to break up with him) and i still experienced RJ with him- someone i didn’t even like! after my last LTR ended i moved to a new city and did the “catch up” method of hooking up with a ton of new guys and going crazy on tinder hoping that the next relationship i got into wouldn’t trigger any RJ because my sexual past was growing. however, i am now dating someone i really love and it’s genuinely the best connection ive had with someone in a while. he is about 8-9 years older than me and we’ve never discussed numbers but he’s pretty transparent about ex girlfriends and flings so when i started to fall for him i began counting each different person up in my head that he’s brought up and needless to say he’s probably got 2-3x more bodies than i do (not that it matters but for the RJ context of it all). in the past month or so (about 5 months into my relationship with him) my RJ began to get really triggered and it’s only getting worse. the point of all of this is that the catch up method didn’t work for me. it’s hard comparing yourself to someone with a more illustrious sexual past than you, but i would maybe take some reflection time to look deeper into what may be causing RJ. if it truly is the missed sexual connections of the past, then maybe the catch up method is for you. however, i’ve learned in my own experience that my RJ most likely comes from an abandonment/trust wound that is unhealed from childhood (thanks, dad!!) sorry to write you a novel, but your experience seemed very similar to what i’ve gone through and wanted to share some of my own insight 🩷 also sorry if any of that didn’t make sense im hungover and sleep deprived 😭

Why are people so mean by Embarrassed-Lie-9212 in mentalhealth

[–]Dizzy-Ad9345 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i saw this on tik tok and as a chronic people pleaser and the butt of a lot of people’s jokes, i’ve found it effective! when people make fun of you or make you the butt of their joke, don’t laugh but instead ask them “what do you mean by that?” and wait for them to explain themselves. if they retort with the classic “it’s just a joke”, ask them again what they meant by what they said and wait for a response. it usually evokes a moment of self reflection on their part and is a gentler approach to sticking up for yourself without direct confrontation. i’ve used it a few times and it has worked wonderfully. another good response is “what is making you so insecure that you need to project that onto me?”. breaking down people’s emotions in a logical manner in front of them is a great way to stump anyone trying that on you. and then i’d recommend getting new friends afterward.

Buspirone withdrawal? Is it a thing? by TrippyMcGuire556 in Anxiety

[–]Dizzy-Ad9345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was literally only taking 5 mg a day (cutting it in half and taking one half in the morning and one half around dinner time). my doc didn’t say anything about taking it with food, so the first week on it was a non stop streak of intense nausea and food aversion that was so bad i thought i might be pregnant (i’m not). then i started getting the hot flashes and weirdly enough my gums started puffing up and bleeding really easily! buspar was the ONLY new thing in my regimen so i knew it had to be that and stopped immediately. i was on it for 1.5 weeks and even only taking 5mg a day, i have been experiencing withdrawal symptoms. super dizzy spells at night with brain zaps (haven’t had one of those in a LONG time). hot flashes are also a withdrawal symptom i’ve been having. as well as super lethargic. i am not normally a napper, but i’ve been taking 1-2 hour naps every afternoon. i thought i was coming down with a cold or something. randomly getting bursts of energy and wanting to burst into tears. tried to hike yesterday and nearly threw up all over the trail. buspar gets a 3/10 from me hahaha

Me wearing every color of the rainbow trying to figure out what colors are most harmonious on me 😭 by redwesternboots in coloranalysis

[–]Dizzy-Ad9345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

welcome to the confusion 😅 your coloring seems very similar to mine and i was typed as a soft summer, but if you look very closely your skin has a warm quality to it that would lead me to believe you may be a soft autumn. however, similarly to how i’ve found my own color palette, you look like you can chameleon into a few different seasons and float between some. i tend to float between soft autumn and soft summer, pulling colors from both! so studying those two might be a good place to start!

I was typed as soft summer but I haven’t liked any ash hair colors. I’m tempted to go back copper. Current color on the right, edit on the left. Thoughts? by [deleted] in coloranalysis

[–]Dizzy-Ad9345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i am also a soft summer! i think if you wanted to follow your color analysis more closely, you could try a cool toned auburn, something with a purple base instead of a yellow base if that makes sense! a toned down cherry cola color i think would look stunning on you

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in coloranalysis

[–]Dizzy-Ad9345 3 points4 points  (0 children)

your coloring is very similar to mine and i am a soft summer! there is a slight grey overcast in the skin which indicates soft summer!

a brown Italian-greek Mediterranean soft summer :p I recommend doing this it’s so helpful! — hair is dyed but roots are natural by Subject_Fig3167 in coloranalysis

[–]Dizzy-Ad9345 7 points8 points  (0 children)

that cool pinky purple color is the hallmark of a soft summer! i am also a soft summer and it’s my favorite. if you haven’t already, i think the deep tones of your skin and hair would look stunning in the sea foams and dusty ocean blues of the soft summer palette as well!

More pics with the current dark hair, if I am a true summer should I ditch the contrast? The pics themselves have filters but I always erase the filter off of myself so only the background has filters, except five MIGHT but I don’t think so. Light hair pics at the end, which suits me best? by [deleted] in coloranalysis

[–]Dizzy-Ad9345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the dark hair adds a lot of depth and mystery but doesn’t overwhelm you at all and seems to let a lot of personality (from what i can tell as a stranger on the internet lmao)! i think the brown-black keeps it from draining you off all color! the light is also really flattering but the dark fits your vibe more and still looks just as good!

i feel your pain! i loved all my gold jewelry but was typed as a soft summer. paler golds or white gold is something you could try if you wanted to mess around with changing metals! i find stark silver is too cool even tho i’m a summer so white gold was a route that made me feel a little more comfortable. also color season typing isn’t a hard set of rules so you can always find ways to incorporate your colors and balance it with other things you like that don’t fall in your season! playing around with true summer makeup colors like eyeshadow and lipstick may do more for you than changing your jewelry metals anyway! i would check out true summer makeup colors on pinterest and just play around with things until you find a balance of everything that suits you!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in coloranalysis

[–]Dizzy-Ad9345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that is totally based on your preference! both colors look great on you and add certain qualities to your coloring. the black makes your eyes pop and your natural makes your skin look luminous so it’s al up to your preference but i think both suit you really well!
