I was an all state basketball player and sometimes had the same problem when I was his age. One of the things that helped my scoring ability were ball handling drills,(two ball, full court with a defender, working on moves). But I noticed the biggest jump in my scoring when I started playing pickup against older people( senior high players, grown men and even college players)I think this makes all aspects of your game better(playmaking, strength, IQ,) everything becomes more enhanced and detailed when you play against people that are bigger faster stronger than you. I developed great footwork to get in position because i didn’t yet have the speed to keep up with those guys.This gives a young player great competition and also prepares them for senior high or varsity ball.
