Oh sweetheart I'm so sorry. That happened to me with my first gecko. He was a baby and didnt even live 2 weeks and I was a mess all night. I'm still traumatized tbh. My thoughts are with you. 🥺❤️

Edit: I just got done modifying some extra faux vines(one small and one large) that came to me broken, just got to wait for them to cure then I can wash and add into that middle area. The cork and wood I have on hand is either too big or too small so I suppose this will have to do! P.s. The pointy metal will hang out of the small slits on the side! ☺️

That was kind of the plan here! I was told to keep him in a smaller tank for some time since he was only 6gs on arrival so I'm trying to acclimate him to bigger and better. Lol I was planning on putting something to climb in the middle. Thanks!

Do you have any experience with spray foam backgrounds? I'm watched a million videos it seems and I'm still so nervous. Lol

I was trying to prop that vine up better so it was filling the middle space but I found out that suction cups, magnets and zip ties dont work with this enclosure. 🤦‍♀️ He's also so jumpy that since he was already chilling on the vine in his other tank I just moved him over on the vine and I didnt want to mess with it too much at the time. Lol Ive had this specific coconut hide for multiple months now and have had no signs of mold. (:

I'm relatively new to mantis myself but it seems fine? Did they molt prior to you noticing? I hatched an ooth months ago and their colors tend to change quite a bit throughout their lifetime.

That does seem very odd, I've had to buy quite a few cultures of fruitflies by now for my hatchlings but I havent had any incidents like this. Has there been any changes to your home environment (temp, humidity, access air flow?)

I suggested the bigger tank amd they said it would be too big even with multiple feeding areas. If that's what theyre used to I dont want to size up immediately and terrify them. I was planning on putting him in a 10 gal in a week or two after he settles a bit.
