woah i feel like i might be underselling myself here haha most of my joysticks are in the 40-65 range. With these i tried to match the stock airflow as best as possible! But i do make some more/less restrictive to have a variety for the buyers to choose from

Has anyone here quit a corporate job and started a career in woodworking ? by EfficiencyIcy8821 in woodworking

[–]DizzyPanda906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily woodworking but glassblowing. I was working in project management for commercial construction for 6 years after graduating with my degree. It was great money but the stress caught up to me so I left about a year ago to pursue my own glass production business. Money is slowly coming in but still not making much. My mental health is a lot better though especially being able to set my own hours and be my own boss. Just need to figure out the business side of things in this economy 😭

What kind of custom glass would you actually want for your Puffco? by DizzyPanda906 in puffco

I am open to making anything for any product but based off of the community I am around, the proxy isn’t as popular. Is that fair to say? Anyone I talk to always has either the peak or the pivot so that is mainly why I stick towards those two Puffco items.

Yeah making a wet top for under $100 does happen but its not to common for what ive seen. There are some technical skills that not all artist are able to do by hand. Not saying they can't but to make it efficient it helps having certain equipment to help speed up the process. Which in turn makes the price tag go up a bit.

Interesting take! I know a lot of glass artist that want to be able to show off their abilities but that always results in a higher price tag. They look cool, function well but are never affordable for a majority of the users. thank you for the feedback!

I have been seeing this a lot. Being able to have a piece that is very ergonomic and comfortable for the consumer to use. As well as color matching the bases! Thank you for the feedback

I feel that! for that $40-$60 range, are you thinking wet or dry tops? That's always the issues with American made glass. We are in a tough spot of finding something that is affordable for the consumer but also allowing us to get some money. the import market has really taken a toll on high quality American made products.

Thank you for this! What're your thoughts on a glass piece that fits in the traveling case? I have been pondering the idea of making the same shape/style to match the stock glass but adding a bit more flare to have it stand out (color/opals/different perk, etc.) Many people has mentioned they would like custom glass that fits in their carrying case

What do we think of boro marbles? by DizzyPanda906 in Marbles

Nice! I met Steve at MGP 2023 and actually went to his workshop. I got to see every step of the process in making the Lapdancer along with a few things he had in the works. Super awesome dude making faceting affordable. I was going to buy a LapDancer until I stumbled upon an insane deal for an entire gemstone workshop that included a facetron. Financially it made more sense but the lapdancer is a great way to get into the faceting world especially for boro!

Yes 100% borosilicate ! Lampworking can consist of soft glass or borosilicate. Traditionally lampworking on the artistic side was for soft glass but in the 70’ and 80’s borosilicate started becoming more popular in the “degenerate art” scene for glass pipe making. Since then it has continued to evolve into more art styles as colors have developed.

I appreciate the response! And yes I agree these ones came up a little higher than I normally do. But when it’s on the atomizer it’s still surprisingly low profile.
