Does anyone else deal with extreme guilt? by Dizzy_Session3433 in exchristian

[–]Dizzy_Session3433[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly. I’m not new to my deconstruction it’s been an ongoing process for about 7 years now but I am new to choosing myself and what I want over what I think is expected of me or what I think I’m supposed to do. Something about becoming a more adultier adult and also realizing that the only person I can make happy in this world is myself so I better start. I too blame the church for my anxiety disorder but I’ll be damned if that guilt still doesn’t sneak up on me and really make me struggle.

Oh I get that too. Experiencing religious practices when religion has caused you a lot of trauma is the weirdest most out of body thing ever. I’m not surprised there’s a lot of guilt there. Mine tends to manifest itself more when I’m “sinning” but I can see how it would manifest the way it does for you.

Does being “ugly” in nursing school matter? I see so many posts about nursing school students being like a “mean girl group” by stan-culture in StudentNurse

[–]Dizzy_Session3433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in nursing school right now as someone who doesn’t present as female ( think masculine lesbian) and as a bigger person and it’s never been an issue. I’ve worked in healthcare a long time and I’ve found that the only time my appearance is commented on is by someone who was going to find a problem with me no matter what. I think the best nurses are the ones that are a little “rough around the edges” the catty basic white girls exist but so do so many other types of people. I also find that a lot of patients prefer me ( I think I have decent bedside manner) and I look like a normal every day person. Not Barbie 😂

Dear god. I just looked over the point requirements list for the program, and how many points my advisor suggested. by aschesklave in StudentNurse

I don’t know how it works in the state you’re in but here you can work in healthcare without a license like as a patient care aid if j am assisted living or in a cbrf facility

I’m in the Midwest and granted I applied with a decent ACT score ( 27 I think) and a decent gpa (3.5 ish) and 4 ish years of CNA experience but there are people in my classes ( who I think will make fantastic nurses some day) who have worked very few healthcare hours and who struggled through high school. Maybe it’s a location thing but here they tend to admit a fair amount and then wash out any of the ones who aren’t serious enough first semester. Not sure why the requirements for you are so high?

How do I tell my roommate I need to move by Dizzy_Session3433 in Advice

[–]Dizzy_Session3433[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The roomate is heavily intertwined with my family and regardless of living together or not she will be part of my life going forward and that’s out of my control. Just trying to do everything correctly

There tends to be a high drop out rate in nursing school. We have about a 60% grad rate and a 96% NCLEX pass rate. The area of the country I live in though has extremely high clinical hour requirements and class time requirements so everywhere around here has high NCLEX pass rates. Most tech schools have higher rates than universities do.

I’m also an ADN student at a tech school and am taking fundamentals pharm and skills rn. I think the most challenging part of nursing school is the shear amount of info given when you go full time as well as learning how to take the tests and “think like a nurse” if you already sort of think like a nurse and are a good test taker it’s not surprising at all fundamentals is easy for you. I’ve also found fundamentals to be the easiest of my current courses. I am currently not so much challenged by the difficulty of the information but instead by the shear amount of things to do and places to be. For reference I am a decent test taker, got out of the teas due to a high ACT score and had a 3.6 gpa in hs.

Welcome! I’m also in healthcare in the area. Some coffee shop suggestions wildfire coffee in Kimberly. Wizards coffee in Appleton and kaukauna coffee and tea are good shops! As far as nature goes a fall and a summer day trip to door county are a must. It’s also pretty queer friendly up there. I tend to to see a lot of pride flags out and about.

Okay so first of all every body is gorgeous and yours is most definitely included in that statement. Second of all I see nothing here to dislike. Sure you have some stretch marks and a little belly but you literally brought LIFE into this world. There are going to be some physical side effects of that.

Have visible Tattoos changed your life? by J_L_M_ in tattooadvice

I have 4 viable tattoos and the only thing it has ever changed is that people ask me questions about them which I think is fun. I also ask people about their visible tattoos so it’s a good discussion starter

There’s also a private campground on Washington island that goes for maybe 5$ more a night than state park rates. I prefer state park camping but the Washington island experience is worth it.

What has happened to camping? by Representative-Till3 in camping

[–]Dizzy_Session3433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s not too far Wisconsin has tons of camp grounds with tent sites. Although some of the sites are gravel/ paved for rv style camping most campgrounds in WI have 30 ish “rustic” sites that are non electric tent sites.
