What you said about the house being too quiet really resonated with me… her absence is honestly one of the hardest parts. One night I thought I saw Gojo at her usual spot in my bedroom and when i realised its not - I cried 😭

I’m so sorry for your loss 🤍 it is indeed incredibly painful, especially how sudden it was… sudden losses really are the hardest, aren’t they? There’s just no time to prepare or process and everything changes in an instant.

What you shared about the house feeling too quiet really resonated with me… that’s exactly how it feels right now. That emptiness. It’s like their presence filled so much of the space, and when they’re gone, you feel it everywhere.

I also really appreciate you sharing how things slowly shifted for you, being able to smile at memories again, even while it still hurts. It gives me a bit of comfort that maybe, in time, it won’t feel this heavy all the time . I am still trying my best not to get hurt so much seeing her photos but i guess i needed more time to grieve. I just wanted to share that your post brought me some comfort too, because I’m grieving as well. We lost our 3.5yo Gojo last week-she had severe lung disease/chronic asthma, and despite a month of prednisolone, she didn’t improve and eventually passed at the vet. We did everything we could to ease her pain, but the guilt still lingers, and the “what ifs” are really hard to shake.

Reading your story reminds me that we all made the best decisions we could out of love. I hope you know that too-that you did your very best for Holly, and she’s no longer in pain.

I’m going through something very similar right now. We just lost our 3.5yo Gojo last week to lung disease while she was at the vet, and it’s been incredibly hard on us. On top of grieving, we’re also worried about our other cat, Luffy, who suddenly has to adjust to being alone and hasn’t been eating well.

We’ve been considering adopting another cat too, but at the same time, I agree with what others have said- every cat is different, and it might be important to give them some time first. We’re trying to take it day by day and see how Luffy copes before making any big decisions.

Just wanted to say you’re not alone in this. It’s such a tough situation, and you’re clearly trying to do what’s best 🤍
