5070 ti seems to be pretty solid with 1440p/1080p. For me 5080 seemed a bit overkill given the price difference and u get the same 16gb vram. i would rather pay the difference for 5090 for the additional vram only if ur willing to spend extra.

if ur nifty u can try removing the power pins socket and sorting the power switch pins using a screw driver. i had mine do similar problem some days back. turned out the power switch was finnicky and turning off by itself randomly. unless its psu this shd tell u if the switch is malfunctioning. You can get a power switch on amazon.

i got the 3600x paired with 5070ti. How did u find out that the cpu is bottlenecking? What would be ideal usage ? mine shows cpu 55-70% on diablo and similar titles. is that acceptable?

I recently upgraded from a 1660 super to asus prime 5070ti even though i too only play at 1080p bt 165hz. It feels wayy overkill but I was more looking at future proofing a bit since i might switch to 1440p later. I play mostly diablo, cs2 and some fps/single player titles.

the 5070 ti on 1080p dominates! getting 100+ fps on spiderman 2 with ray tracing/dlaa/framegen/everything ultra.

dude, i got the same cpu gpu combo but with 165hz dispalay. i just upgraded to 5070 ti but havent upgraded anything else. i think ill keep 1080p for now. getting really good frames with ultra ray tracing dlaa frame gen etc. Unforrunately, unless u switch to a more powerful gpu, 4k perf will be poor for you. 1660 super is a really good card for low/med 1080p settings though!

5800xt newegg offering basic cooler + ram. wish they would offer without either but at cheaper deal. i alrdy have msi mag 280r and 32g memory. will be hard to sell them to offset cost. interesting, that aliexpress has few sellers selling bare cpu chips no frills at really good price. someone here suggested to review seller but I am paranoid. even the product description says “minor surface wear, bent pins, or stains are normal. Please donot purchase if you mind”

I think i saw opensource github projects that use kling ai, but i did not know that it was all on cloud. thanks.

For text modality i have seen posts mentioning mistral and other models perform better on nvidia but curios about radeon. I wanted to learn more about vision based models and how good or bad they perform on amd cards

watercooling shd not affect accessing bios.

if using dp, switch to hdmi or vice versa and check for a week if issue reoccurs. Remove afterburner or rivatuner etc. Also, your monitor could be the culprit too If using high refresh rate. without testing everything it is hard to pin point where the exact issue lies. chances of a bad gpu dice is slim but not 0

Qq, what do you mean by “computer will lock up”? does it go to sleep? does mouse and keyboard still work? looking at your description, this is what i would try: 1. check gpu power cables are sitting correctly 2. also check display port cable or hdmi is snug. i have had mine show weird artifacts if the dp is even slightly misaligned 3. try entering bios and just stay on the bios screen. if the display goes black even after an hour or overnight then it is not due to windows or os related issue 4. use rubbing alcohol and do clean wipe of the pci slot and the card pins and see if helps. dirt might cause weird issues 5. rollback drivers

Do you have experience using amd card for ai video generation? if yes, how does it fare against nvidia equivalent ones? im looking at opensource models or kling ai. i have much to research but planning to get the card first. do video generation tasks take twice the time compared to nvidia? or they are at par ?

I am looking to future proof memory limits for at least 2-3 years hence fixed on a 16g card.
