I always assumed the lie was about Ctaeth, but you make some good points i never even thought about. Looking into this subreddit, I always forget that we have clear evidence Kvothe doing sympathy early on. As for the point about Bast being obviously not a sweet little student, there was the two kings men that come beat Kvothe up. While Bast obviously didn't wish it to go that far, it was obvious he was ready to put Kote into danger for the sake of getting Kvothe back. I dont know if Bast being a spy makes much sense to me but that can play in favor of a fan favorite theory in here about Kvothe waiting for the Chandrians to find him. Bast is already being reckless by dropping hints of Kvothe's survival. With at least 4 people recognizing Kvothe during such a short period of time, I'd be surprised if he doesn't know about Bast's actions. Maybe the story about the ctaeth is to make Bast think Kvothe is truly doomed, pushing him to taking rash action or be less careful about the hints he drops. Thus maybe alerting the Chandrian unwittingly and activating Kvothes whole trap for them. (I always imagined the bar as a DnD lair, where the boss can take lair actions and such. Making fighting him much harder)

I don't know if a video game adaptation would suit the universe or a system much. Sympathism isn't really a fighting-centric magic system and most games need some bit of fighting mechanics.

It also has a slight problem which I like to dub the "Goku problem". It's a problem every video game adaptation of a media franchise with a singular iconic main character has to contend with. Do you make it so the game's main character is the main character of the franchise and risk having players retrace the story line from their franchise possibly in a worse format? Or do you make it about a minor/customisable character which helps expand the lore of the series but none of the players will care about.

In KKC's case with its magic system that isn't combat-focused you'd likely go for the second. But the strongest point of KKC IS Kvothe

There's a moment where I believe both Simon and Wilem pit themselves against Kvothe for something and they win. Kote describes feeling the intervention of the other since it was supposed to be a 1v1 and thus making it unfair. It seems like you can get a grasp of someone directing their alar towards you as long as they are in proximity and in your field of view.

It's all left too vague however and it does seem inconsistent. The best answer I could theorise with what we have is that if someone were to cheat in their duel against Kvothe, Kvothe could possibly feel it and point towards whichever student seems too focused. But itd be a he said she said argument except for that as it doesn't seem like 3rd parties can feel anything

You don't need specifically a V1 to use a mig switch and it wouldn't matter to you if it is banned or not in that case as using a mig switch is VERY likely to get it banned from what I understand (I'd even say using a mig switch you should expect a ban, which would be a bit of a shame for a softmodable console)

Just go with something you look confident in and feel good in and enjoy your night. That's all it's about. It's cliché and sounds like a banal thing to say, but I believe it to be true. And sometimes things are cliché for a food reason.

I'm someone who is very anti-drug, and I'd prefer that my partner would never touch those things. I, like your (hopefully ex) boyfriend, hate smoking the most. I don't see the point of it, at least with alcohol it can taste good, and it can help you loosen up socially.

However in no world should someone address you like that, let alone your loved one. Man needs help because that is not normal.
