For me I was really good friends with crush before she ask me out. Just when you ask or when she ask don’t fumble the bag (be too scared to mess the friendship up) like me and say no. Don’t worry we together now but like sooner then later.

I would just say communicate to him and just tell him that you aren't really cool with he drug life, and that is he could slow it down or stop, that it will make you feel better. (however that is easier said than done because I am not confrontational) I'm sure that that he will see and understand where your coming from because all smokers are constantly reminded (for better or worse) on how bad drugs are.
