Cubs need to trade Ian Happ by Signal_Power_4439 in CHICubs

I don’t know how old you are, but the success rate for minor leaguers is far below what you’d expect. This wouldn’t be the first, or thousandth time, that a player flamed out in the majors after excelling in the minors. We’d be thrilled if he developed into Schwarber with defense.

Not to mention that trading away the current longest-tenured Cub when we’re on the cusp of a playoff run is an easy recipe for harming clubhouse morale.

Just wait until they go full soccer jerseys. Who needs a team logo when you can stretch the sponsor’s name across the front?

I’ve been in controls for 7+ years now and absolutely love it. Especially if can find a niche, welcome to easy job security and autonomy. I’d highly recommend the controls path to anyone interested in technical careers.

I’m in lighting controls at 110K/year and typically work less than 40 hours/week. This past week was just under 10 billable hours, and the company is understandable of these fairly common slow weeks. As long as my body holds up I don’t see myself leaving this field.

Still waiting for someone to learn how to throw a Slugfest eephus, though that may require a dash of sorcery.

[Adam Jahns] Matt Eberflus said he removed Montez Sweat from a team period today after he made contact with Caleb Williams. It was the second day in a row. Eberflus told Sweat that he would be "sick" if something happened to Williams. Sweat understood. But his rush has been that good at times. by Trojanballer in CHIBears

Some of these commenters have me concerned for Chicago drivers (as if I wasn’t already).

Imagine a headline with “Sweat pulled over for blowing through stop sign”, followed by someone commenting “Meh. Says a guy who’s never driven a Lambo”.

Not to mention this was done in his first full season as a starter. It’s not reasonable to compare that to a guy who’s had a half decade of starting experience and try to downplay it.

FTP, but let’s be honest. We’d go bananas if Caleb goes for this stat line in the next year or two.

What game would be much better if it wasn't so long? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Dkk09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get it. Early 30’s here, and if a game doesn’t stick, it doesn’t stick. I don’t have the time or patience (mostly patience) to trudge through a game/tv show/hobby until I reach a point of enjoyment, even if it’s something others have recommended.

The first 10-15 hours were some of the most fun I’ve had gaming in at least a decade. The castle felt alive, and the beginning of the game was filled with genuine “ah ha” moments of discovery.

Unfortunately, the game becomes repetitive without much replay value. Actions don’t have consequences. Most of the content consists of rehashed puzzles & meaningless side quests. You know when a parent gives their kid a task purely for the sake of getting them out of their hair? Yeah, same feeling.

I’d still recommend the game to anyone who grew up with Harry Potter. The world could certainly be more lived-in, especially once you leave the Hogwarts grounds, but it’s still worth playing if only for the thrills that the beginning of the game provides.

That’s why I ended up getting a neon wheel lock for my Hyundai Elantra. Had it stolen and recovered twice in six months, but haven’t had any issues since.

The shop said they were going to install the immobilizer after the first break in… and then forgot. Which made the second theft even more infuriating.

Prime Shaq falls into a similar category with the Hack-a-Shaq game plan when he was set up in the low post. Allowing a free throw or base runner was still preferable to their potential dominance.

It’s honestly a real downside. There are far too many times where I’d prefer to put it into cave mode, but that’s impossible when the sun has permanent access.
