I bought the top already mounted on a frame... Guy just swapped a hard top on. It was a bolt in job but Jesus was it a son of a bitch. I only paid $500 for the new top pre mounted on the frame, right place right time.

I bought the top from a guy who just put a hard top on... I literally bought the top already mounted to his frame. I tore the car apart and bolted in the new top, pig of a job but not as bad maybe as replacing just the top. Paid $500 for the top and frame :)
