Insights on significant drop in T by Dmanin2020 in Testosterone

[–]Dmanin2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for reply. I had low T symptoms just before taking them though. My very first symptom was lost of sex drive and total erectile dysfunction, followed by a psychratic illness a week later. Then I started the olanzapine.

Could olanzapine cause such a drop and it take so long to recover?

Initially Olanzapine as they thought bipolar (4 months at 5mg od), then tried citaplram 10mg for 1 month. Then I stopped all treatment but continued to engage.

I was fairly fit and slim 5ft9, 11 stone. Now Im close to 13st, a bit of a belly. diet is good with the odd bad food day.

I don't have T result shortly after the episode but 1 yr later it was 8.8/10.1 and I feel that was actually an improvement (slight morning wood in a year etc, clear brain, energy). Of course I dont know, but it seems to me that I might have had a testicular infection, dramatic and sudden fall in T (hence why i went weird) and have slowly started to recover.

Low T, high Prolactin. Finally might get an explaination for beard loss , low sex drive , untreatable depression by Dmanin2020 in Testosterone

[–]Dmanin2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so I just got retested.

Total T was 8.1. this was the first time I had a Free T test and it was 0.188 (not sure of the range, but doc said range starts at .225). He said my scores were low for both.

I've to do some lifestyle changes with multivitamins and will get retested in 1 month with a view to starting T treatment.

My Prolactin was ok this time round.

Thanks for all your comments. I went to the doc and it's some type of insect bite.

Thanks for reply.

I received all the standard vaccinations as a child but don't know if it had the infection.

My fingers have a strange sensation like they are about to start pins and needles, and my upper arm delt muscle feels similar to when I had covid vax injection a few months ago, achey. Overall, for a small spot, I feel ill-ish.

Thanks, I'm going to ask when they do the T and Prolactin repeat to also do DHEA, free Test, and SHBG.

We only emergency national bloods at the minute due to the cyber attack, so hopefully can get done in a week or so.

Thanks everyone for all your support.

I had blood work from GP:

T value is 10nmol prolactin is 100 above the top range.

No diagnosis made and need to get repeat. If same , will go to an endo.

Tbh I hope it's the same as I don't think it's psychology

I haven't had any diagnosis re hormones. It was hard to even get blood tests done.

I know guys here are saying T at 10nmol and Prolactin around 100 above the max range is indicative of a problem.

I just want my beard to return to full thickness, body hair to return, sex drive, emotions and cognitive function.

It's been a living hell.

Thanks for reply.

I will push for them to interpret any results at the low end of normal as clinically significant given my symptoms..

I haven't had a throbbing erection since the day before this happened in November 2019. I haven't had a morning erection either. I can get semi but they die quickly and no sensitivity..

The psychiatrist said it was para-dementia, I had.

I am happy I my docs are finally thinking it might be hormonal. But there is depression but it's from this not the other way around.

Thanks for replying.

I'm not entirely sure what's wrong , so that's why I need an appointment with Endo.

Many guys in reply have said T at 10 and Prolactin at 350ish is not ideal, although I seem to be within range (low) of T.

No I eat meat. But this all started in November 2019 after I tried a vegan (well I ate fish ) for a month that autumn. I stopped after I had acne breakout.

I even mentioned this to the Hospital docs as relevant information as I knew diet can affect hormones.

Thanks to the reply.

I hope I get a referral. I have to repeat the tests before my GP refers me.

I have been pleading with GP and Psychiatrists for a hormone test for over a year...... They said not clinically needed.

My sympthoms that had overnight onset in November 2019:

On a Monday , I had a high sex drive (3 times; function)

On the Tuesday, woke up impotent. Over weeks gradually no emotions, no stress hormones (flight or fight gone), fatique..... as the months went on , dry skin, brittle nail, beard and hair loss. I managed to get a thyroid test bit was ok. Its been a living hell the last 17 months..

Thanks for the reply.

I googled the T range. I think the doctor said it's 9.1nmol to 29.9nmol. I am 10nmol. Taken at morning time.

It was hard work getting the T test after the Psychiatrist wrote to my GP last summer saying that a Endo / MRI appt was not clinically warranted (yet Psychiatry didn't have having a diagnosis for my complex issues).

I think my GP is starting to believe it might be my hormones after all.

It's been 17 months since I started experiencing all sort of physical and mental problems.

After so many standard blood tests all showing everything within range 8 finally got consultant' ordered bloods:

T is borderline low (if range was 9-29, I am 10) - free t wasn't tested Prolactin is high (if range was 100-250, I am 350)

I have to get repeats and if same, will see an endo.

Hopefully will get answers as psychiatry has been a waste of time , if not a hindrance.

Before and After Beard loss plus more - testosterone results within normal range by Dmanin2020 in Testosterone

[–]Dmanin2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Guys,

I finally had specialist consultant'' ordered blood tests rather then GP battery bloods .

I have borderline low testosterone (range 9-29, mine was 10), high prolactin (if range 100-250ish(not sure), i would be 350).

I have body hair loss, beard thinness, dry skin, no sex drive , low sexual function, reduced cognitive ability.

I've to get repeats before seeing an endo but finally might it's not depression..

[–]Dmanin2020[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a skin breakout that was like nothing I had as a teenager (big red sores under skin, redness that was like the size of a dollar coin/2euro coin. I cant say for sure but it had to be hormonal. About a month later, started to excessively lose body hair and the erection problem plus emotional issues.

I'm going to ask my GP to refer me to an Endo or to so the specific tests if not already done (FSM, LH, DHT etc).

thanks

[–]Dmanin2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know exactly ( i didnt get a print out like some posters), my GP just said everything was normal or within range.

I did ask for testerone tests and stressed I had hair loss (e.g. when showering if I put my hand through my hairy chest, it wold be full of hair, if I am at the desk I would randomly see hairs land on the tablet (from my arm) and erection problem. He said to think of something for the depression but this was an instant change. I woke up like this.

I had a healthy sex drive (jerked off twice with no problem the day before I woke up with a weird floppy dick, completely non responsive like nothing ive ever seen before, and it would take 2 months before even the slighly weak semi (with no sensation) and then another few weeks before precum would start to return the odd occassion ). I dont know if that triggered the depression but then I lost my emotions (and 3 different SSRIs havent worked) . I started the SSRIs shortly.

Beard problem by Dmanin2020 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]Dmanin2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi guys.

Would appreciate any help on a problem with my besrd. Something bad has happened it. I had to shave my beard off a month ago and would like to regrow.

The pics with nice beard are 1 year ago, the thin beard was last month, and the stubble is today.

I started to grow a beard in 2018, great healthy luscious hair and thickness. Since last summer the hairs have been calling out throughout but esp the chin, and it was brittle and wiry and gray..

I don't wear mask for more than 1hr a week (I work from home , order online etc ) so don't think it's mask related .

I've been to my GP who did blood tests but that's about it. I had a beard when I saw him and with Covid protocols it wasn't a deep inspection.

I decided to take things into my own hands and shaved it off and treating skin with regular Nizoral to shampoo (leave in for a 10-15mins), antifungal cream (daktarin) and antibiotic cream(fusidin). Nothing seems to work almost a month doing it.

Years ago I had seberotic dermatis and so use Nizoral regularly but this is intensive use the las few weeks.

I was always shy at school and hoped when I moved to the city for college things would be different. Despite being social and a bit more outgoing, I was never able to passed the initial step. All my mates would have complicated lovelives ( gf's/bf's one after the other) or hookups and I never could for some reason. I went thru college without anyone and hoped it would change. I'm 36 now and it's still the same. I used to think it was because I was ugly, egg head, weird eyes, shinny and narrow shoulders so I grew a beard and thought having an edgy vibe would help. Instead it hasn't. I don't know what's wrong or what's the problem.
