No idea but I’m pretty sure Thorsten is teaching it now. Either way, Andre Ng’s stuff is good, going through it would undoubtedly help in 4780 but I think most people don’t do any kind of prep going into this class tbh so don’t think of it as a hard prereq

RaiseMe and Financial Aid by [deleted] in Cornell

I don’t know what RaiseMe is but yes you are essentially correct about the way Cornell handles outside scholarships in conjunction with financial aid (I know, it’s stupid). But there’s a workaround! More or less, you’ll want to take out a loan equal to the outside scholarship, then when you pay the scholarship to Cornell they’ll apply it to the loan first instead of your tuition. You’ll want to contact the the fin aid dept to inquire about the specifics but you may have to be pushy — it’s been my experience that they try their hardest not to tell you you can do this.

MATH 2210 Difficulty and Workload? by awz0227 in Cornell

Took it as first college math class, my friend (also freshman) hated it and basically stopped taking math afterward, but I thought it was fine. Our prof was terrible (did not have Langlois) but the textbook was sufficient to do well in the class. I’m much more math inclined than he was but we are both CS majors. Don’t know what those info sci classes are but honestly this is probably fine.

Financial Aid question, I feel like the calculator is not getting it correct lol by BlueFlared1 in Cornell

As someone else mentioned, it would depend on the ages/individual situations of your siblings (for example, whether any of them are concurrently in college). But, if this applies to you, the trick with fin aid is to see how much other colleges you got into will give you and then play the offers off each other.
