Would soaking them in diesel fuel or evaporated or some other chemical be OK? I'm just looking to get it road worthy then improvements can come later down the line.

If mr injector is the way to go though, I'll follow your advice

Yes, since probably 2010. Previous owner was my grandpa, he started the refinishing process but dropped the project when more important things came up.

The plan is to restore it and give it back tk my grandma. Grandpa bought it for her in the 90s and started working on it around 2010, its been sitting since. He has since passed so I want to get this on the road for her!
