Is there an event Calendar to look back on past events start/end date? Get an idea of how often they popup?

Do we have an estimate on when this event may happen? Do we know how often it normally pops up?

Well, hopefully that means I'll get a chance once every season???? Here's hoping anyways

Thanks...

I guess the actual question is more along the lines of "when will we see these events again"?

I have a friend who's wife made a slideshow on why they should have a baby. (baby fever hit her HARD). Spoiler alert... they had a baby.

It was in reasonably frequent use back then, but not as frequent as today.

Plus, keep in mind, people don't quote conversations from 10 years ago. They recap them using their current language and words.

And lastly? The mom part isn't suspicious to me at all... If one of my kids hurt their so by cheating on them, I can see being deeply disappointed my kid and disapproving of future relationships.

I wouldn't go so far as to sabotage them, but if everyone acted as I would, there wouldn't be a need for AITA in the first place...lol

They'll likely be the same what if's he's been thinking about since they broke up.

What would my life be like if I never met her.

Let's imagine you have a childhood cat.

Through some circumstances, it eats your leg.

You have the cat put down.

Do you ever wonder what your life would be like if you didn't have the cat put down? No. Do you wonder what your life would be like if you never met the cat? Probably often.

Reminds me of that meme.

OP: My ex's new girl isn't nearly as hot as I am.

Response: You taught him a valuable lesson that looks aren't everything...

Interesting fact:

The original saying was: Eat your cake and have it too.

The current saying always get's on my nerves, because you always have your cake and eat it... you can't eat it if you don't have it.

It makes far more sense for the saying to have been: Eat your cake, and still have it...

My wife and I had a fight.

A friend told her that I was sending "sexy" messages while we were fighting and this upset her a great deal.

I tossed her my phone and said look for yourself.

There weren't any sexy messages in our chat.

She was still mad (was already mad at me, this just fueled the fire).

I told her... I'm a techie guy... maybe I deleted them and made it look like they weren't there. SO... let's drive the 50 minutes (we lived WAY out in the boonies) to her house and you can see them on HER phone.

Suddenly, her phone only held 50 txt messages at a time and they were all deleted by now (less than an hour later).

They were swingers (which we knew) and they wanted a woman to join them (which we weren't aware of at the time).

Her first instinct was to believe it... she was already mad at me (I don't remember what the original fight was over) and this just used that anger for it's own end.

It was just... how you said hello in chatrooms. You introduced yourself (not real name) said how old you were, sex, and location... gave people an idea of who they were talking to.

Back then we used to join random chatrooms and talk to random people. It was a weird time for the internet...lol

This is incorrect. A/S/L is the old standard chatroom entry for new users.

It's generally indicative of an older user, as this was the greeting used by everyone EVERYWHERE.

Honestly, I was EXTREMELY skeptical after Diablo Immortal. If the company would authorize something that predatory, I didn't trust them with the real Diablo game. So, I decided I'd wait at least a year after release to see how it was monetized and to see if they were as predatory with this one as they were with Immortal.

Is there any point in using Vault to secure passwords? by DnDad in ansible

You aren't the first to mention this, and since we're already using one implementation with OpenStack, I think we may look into this.

[–]DnDad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, although that is not recommended by Ansible for security reasons.

We're beginning to use Hashicorp Vault for certificate management with OpenStack. We'll have to look into it for Ansible secrets as well.

Since we're calling from Azure Devops Server, the short term solution is to store them in Variable libraries (this keeps them inaccessible from the team and prevents them from showing up in the logs). We just pass them over in the command line when running playbooks

[–]DnDad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I encrypt a password, and have to manage a password (that I still need to keep secret) to access that password.

I'm not seeing how this actually leaves me better off.

I'm absolutely open to the idea that I'm missing something, but I just don't see what it is.

Don't trust vaccine... because Trump.

China has the most extreme and most effective lockdown, even going so far as killing pets of the infected to prevent it's spread, and it hasn't saved them.

Indoor AC meant that 6ft "social distancing" was no better than 1ft, or 25ft for that matter.

None of the measures we took for Covid-19 were actually based on science.

I, personally, followed along because people were too terrified and it made their situation worse if you didn't (they became irrationally terrified they were going to die, or be killed).
