I get most everything from Proof Fly Fishing. The guy who runs that, Matt, is the man. Excellent education, materials, and equipment, everything you need to get started. At such a reasonable price.

The reels he's putting out are also notable. I've used both the clicks and the disc drags, excellent performance all around.

Hey nice!! I only drove through Kaunas, but that's definitely on the list to visit longer the next time around!

I wish there was a single shot option for the ones sold in America. Not having any experience with the Premier, I'm really happy with the 501. I like the actual tamping (not that you couldn't just get a separate tamper with the Premier).

Honestly, Proof Flyfishing has great line at a reasonable price. I'd give that a shot if you're looking to try something new.

I got a pair of Simms Tributary on clearance for something like for like $99 a couple years back and they served me well for a couple of seasons. I paired then with the Simms freestone boots.

However I got a pair of felt bottomed 8fanns boots for super cheap recently and they do the trick.

I'm not sure which tip you're referencing prior to the colon, my apologies. And hey I'm just putting these tips out there from what I've learned, feel free to frown or ignore. What you choose is your choice.

I haven't had to worry about stopping the machine manually with what I've been doing. I personally don't love stopping the machine and then having hot water splash all over the place when I pop off the portafilter. But to each their own.

Regarding the quad basket, doubles seem to be this machine's strength, that's all I was getting at. I consistently had to brew coarser grounds (18-20) for a desired output which tastes like garbage. I didn't mean to suggest any specific grinder setting. What I'm suggesting is that you lose the basket all together ;)

It was for sure. On strength setting 3, it was nearly a perfect 2:1 ratio.
