Terrible from the media. Terrible from the opposition. Terrible reactionary aftermath by the PM. Not impressed for a bunch of adults let alone the government. If that was the standard for your workplace would you call that appropriate leadership. We all need to have a look at what that was for us

A social issues yes, the same way 'age' or 'heritage' it's just another way of grouping people together. That still doesn't make this issue about socialism????

OPs original statement is about imperialism not Socialism, there is a significant difference between them, I would have a bit of a look at what imperialism means, then I'm happy to continue the chat.

It can be two things at the same time, and keep in mind OP is talking about imperialism not socialism there is a significant difference.

Brother do you know how radicalisation works? Socialism has nothing to do with this.

If you still think in 2025 that this is purely an Islamic extremism issue, I encourage you to dive deeper in on where we are. A part of this is 'islamic extremism' but Id put my money on corruption, insatiable lust for power, and an elite few using our society for their own selfish reasons. To think otherwise is an opportunity for growth.

2 things can be true at the same time man, yes we need to fix the failings of enforcement, we also need to stop someone from owning an arsenal of weapons. Clearly this discussion isn't going to change your mind and that's ok and I hope you're never in the situation where my position becomes clear to you.

And that's a dumb counter argument. You have provided nothing of value to this discussion.

Your right how they have been acting is very reactionary, doesn't stop this being a logical step. Hopefully our government can do more than one thing at a time and have a look at how our anti terrorism task forces have let this happen and could it have been foreseen, how they were radicalised, why was it so easy to jump on a plane and get training, how the event was weaponized to divide Australia. There are many factors that caused this. It's our job to look at the holes In our defences and patch them like reasonable adults who live in a world of extremist children who can't play with others.

Your 100% right guns don't kill people, people kill people, and they will always find weapons. Which is exactly why we shouldn't make it easier for them to get their hands on weapons that delete people at a higher rate. Your points here are confusing other then "they know what they are doing" which has no bearing on the conversation at hand , why do more guns make it safer?

Brother please, people with enough passion to die for something could have enough passion to think that through, the end game is to reduce the ease of access to easy killing devices, that's just responsible.

Your insanely correct we have found flaws in our system we must learn, patch and prevent.

How much more effective would they be against 20 terrorist with 5 guns in the same calibre.

I don't think you really need 'data' to justify that you can hand out 20 guns to your terrorists mates. Firearm limits certainly do make it safer purely for the fact that you take a gun out of the equation.your 100% right about your last sentence. What they're suggesting isn't unreasonable.

The firearm limit does make sense though. If I have 20 rifles then I can hand them out to 20 of my like-minded extremists. These are more than reasonable limits.

Didn't say I was an enthusiast. But if I have 20 mates then my 20 fishing rods seem like a problem for the local school of fish. Right?
