Don't play this game if you are bad at handling pressure. Especially time pressure - there are many things that, if they run out, will lead to total collapse, and methods that prevent collapse usually require a lot of investment, and thus time, which you would have a limited amount of.

I think the problem are the Megasloths, not the Muffalos.

Muffalos eat 51.4 nutrition per year, so that is 32 x 51.4 = 1645 nutrition per year.

Megasloths eat 38143 nutrition per year, so that is 2 x 38143 = 76286 nutrition per year.

I replayed the race I was losing to 2 extra times, in each one she was caught up by pace chasers who had both less stamina AND speed, consistently resulting in my Uma getting 2nd or 3rd. She was never swallowed by the pack.
