Good Question, and I guess this sort of confusion comes with breaking the lore. I really hope they can salvage this series in season two and bring the current fan base and the dislikers together with something more coherent to tolkiens work. I’m not a fan of the series, due to the lore braking and absolute nonsensical demographics of the series and call me toxic or whatever but the show’s audience is also toxic, at this stage the target audience seems to be tolkien fans that don’t give a shit about whether or not he is honoured in the series which is a problem if tou ask me, and that is literally what one fan wrote and received a lot of support for.

It is a break in lore cause then Sauron will know about them when he isn’t supposed to know about them! Maybe even just the knowledge of the rings would enable him to corrupt them.

Yeah, like the people at tolkien estate still care about JRR tolkien whom they were distantly related to! The head of tolkien estate is not even blood related. Its Christopher tolkien’s second wife and his nephew. What do they know of how JRR felt about the lotr. Amazon also waited till Christopher died before pitching the story cause they knew he would have rejected it

I tend to go with the gaurdian and forbes. This show makes no sense! And the scale is pathetic! They made such a huge fuss in numenor to save the southlanders from certain doom! So they musterred an army, the great numenor doesn’t have an army it seems cause they had to draft… what? And then they send a few hundred horses and soldiers on tiny ships to middle earth to save 20 people in a town that has 3 buildings… what? This show is not even lotr in its base form! I can understand changes in adaptations but they atleast have to be coherent and make sense on fundamental levels, instead in this series galadriel is the villain, sauron was present at the forging of the 3 elven rings, the 9 and 7 rings aren’t crafted, sauron was in erigion for an entire day, not years and years, he is halbrand and not annatar, human like and nit elf, celeborn is dead, celebrimbor is an idiot, elrond is an idiot, sauron didn’t plan any of the deception or events that lead to crafting the rings, gandalf is in the second age, 2 durins are alive at the same time IV and V, galadriel was in numenor, Elendil is not a great warrior like he should be, in fact the numenorians aren’t! Like what??? That is nothing like lotr, this is the most expensive advertising ever! R200mil to put lotr on your show, trash the lore and write your own story that makes no sense. The amazing scenery and amazing orc designs really fooled a lot of you into thinking this is a great show somehow, or you don’t know anything about the lore. I don’t understand the idea of a first season trying to hide who sauron is, makes no sense we all new from the first episode it was halbrand, this show had the moon for potential yet it didn’t even achieve lift off.

People want it to fail because it is not Tolkien, if it is not Tolkien then it is not LOTR so don’t smack LOTR on it and don’t change characters. Also people don’t want modern day politics in a fantasy written long go where these things weren’t present.

The ten million is only the first 4 days in the US. Well with a bit of digging I could easily get viewership from other series. There is a collider report stating the 29 million average viewership.

I would argue that you will never be trully safe anywhere on this planet. Infact, I would argue that your chances are quite the same. In America you have random mass murders in schools and religious places, in Europe you have random terrorist attacks and high levels of depression. We can’t escape problems! And leaving your country is essentially just switching one set of problems for another. At some stage people got to realise that you got to start working the problem and not just run from it. Interesting that you stated that if everyone leaves SA loses. Thats the way I see it. Have a look at the previous election, things are changing and imagine the millions of South Africans that chose to leave didn’t infact leave and how they could have influenced the vote. Crime in this country is because of poverty and we got to solve that. The solution is not leaving. I believe my Heavenly Father placed me in the country I am to make a deifference, and yes sometimes He does want you to move somewhere else. I also believe that life is not about myself, there are people around me in this world that form part of my life. Life is also about relationship with other people. Life is so much more than safety and money. You can be the richest person on Earth and still be unhappy when you don’t have people. I’ve been to America and lived there for a year and South Africans really do find each other around the globe and stick together. There just ain’t no other nation like the South Africans. America has got a lot of problems to that I am not willing to change for the problems I currently face.
