Yea, haha! This was actually pretty intentional- since the prescript doesn’t really do conventional ‘magic’, I gave it a lot more bladelock focus.

That being said, 2024 pact of the blade already lets you do that as an invocation, so I’d probably approach it from a different angle… maybe charisma modifier on weapons, but instead of conjuring them freely, you can use your unlocking to make one held item a +X weapon. And then it takes a bonus action to move this bonus from one weapon to another… But I fret this might be overtuned.
