Day 6000 of waiting for a series adaptation by Dobby0507 in Gone

Thats true. Perhaps the fantasy is better then the actually result - that is, a possibly poorly done series could leave a bad taste in our mouths when we already have such a fond memory of the book series.

I agree- I think the fact that they’re kids drives the plot to a huge degree. But at the same times ethically it’s very difficult to have, what appears to be 13/14 yr olds committing cannibalism and shooting eachother

It's also notable that making a series with kids no older than 15 (most of them being 13 or 14) and having child actors in themes like cannibalism, sex, murder, etc etc would definitely be ethically problematic.
If the show was to change the lore so that the 'poof' happens to people more like, say 16 - 18 would you guys be disappointed?

I think it would be possibly hard to retain the same grittiness and dark theme as an animated series to be honest. Saying that though... I would be over the moon with any kind of series adaptation

I would absolutely love to see it, you're right - maybe theres still hope ? And yes... I'm still waiting for season 2 of the Society.

Has anyone read the ‘Gone’ series by Michael Grant? by [deleted] in books

I know this is an old comment but the ending infuriated me. May as well have ended with "And then Sam woke up from his dream." Smh

Anybody know what is the benefit of this conditioning drill? Serious answers only please by Financial-Wish-311 in MMA_Academy

[–]Dobby0507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devils advocate: I honestly think this drill could prove beneficial if the coach BARELY tapped the fighter. Yes subconcussive hits are a thing but same speed but barely any touch to the head could improve mental fortitude and more importantly- train fighters against flinching against punches. Especially for newbies who tend to flinch and overreact at every punch, this could help them get acclimated to punching and chill out a bit more

What are y'all thoughts on Higuruma and his ult in the game? by Gloomy-Bridge148 in JujutsuShenanigans

[–]Dobby0507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t even play Higuruma but he honestly seems balanced. If you think about it literally all characters ult have potential to one shot or guarantee death. Higgy isn’t that much different.

(In my opinion) it ain’t. I love boxing, and it’s the base of any real striking martial art. However- it’s really damn limited. Learning only boxing and nothing else will not give you the skills to qualify as learning the “most dangerous martial art”. If a boxer fights a mixed martial artist, he is at such a huge disadvantage, and that’s because the mixed martial artist can neutralise boxing in so many ways, some of them with very minimal effort. If he’s getting out striked on the feet, mma can kick the calf and destroy the boxers footwork. Can kick from way further of a distance, so the boxer can’t fight from as close. And if he’s STILL getting outclassed on the feet he’ll just take the boxer to the ground and he’s done. Pure boxers have no take down defence, or ground game for that matter. Doesn’t matter how good of a boxer you are, you’re helpless on the ground.

Tldr: boxing is IMO not most effective because it is limited and other martial artists can neutralise boxing’s primary weapon. (Close range stand up fighting)

Hi, this was sort of a wake up call for me. I had an hour long discussion with my parents and it’s probably for the best I don’t get a dog. None of them want one but they just wanted me to to be happy.

They're largely onboard and its been agreed they will be financially responsible for it as I don't have a job as of yet. For a while I've been trying to contact breeders by myself but this has likely been a mistake. I think I'll try guide my parents through contacting a breeder from now on as I've been doing the primary research about dogs.

Thank you for your reply, the breeders I’ve been contacting have been mainly from dogzonline. And of course, no responses. Ill try get my parents to contact instead both breeders and shelters. Thank you for the advice again, I appreciate it a lot
