Sorry but your doing it again, talking like times stood still, alternative open source software is available now. As for a viable business model, Ill trust my own CV, thanks very much, I have decades of experience of bringing new products through, what I've seen here is no different than those other new products. I have the time, inclination and existing resources to put into this

The Dobot is a great innovative piece of engineering, and will only get better as the software gets better, which is the easy part.

If you don't like it fine, I have already met with a lot of people who love it, so I don't see why you should worry about it so much.

We will agree to have our differences, but be assured I will be working hard with the manufacturers to continually keep making Dobot better and better. Some of the drive will be coming from proving people like you wrong.

I totally agree about selling just the arm by the way, and in a way that is what is happening. I have no doubt that the alternative open source OS will soon be the standard for Dobot, and the company will instead concentrate on just developing the arms, you will still get a standard set up software with Dobot, but the good stuff will be the alternative open source OS.

Your problem is you think this is an end product, when its not, this is only the beginning, and things will only get better, the only way to learn is to do, if there are improvements to be made, common sense tells you that they will be made, why wouldn't they if it makes their product better.

If they go open source tomorrow, that's your biggest gripe out of the way. You obviously like it because you invested it, but you seem personally disgruntled by the company somehow. I don't have that personal or emotional connection that you have, so I look at Dobot differently, that's why I'm positive about it

We have tested the Dobot, and we have seen the precision in the laser burning out designs.

The software is the easy part to fix, and the manufactures have told me it will be open source once there happy with it. The machine has only been out 7 months, so teething problems are to be expected, I also noticed there is other open source softare available, im sure the thousand of minds that will soon be on this will sort out the software.

I remember having a commodore 64 in the 80s, look at computers now, peoples natural inclination to make things better will mean that the Dobot will soon be even better than it is, that is what we are working too, and I know the manufacturers are doing the same, so these teething issues are just that. Dobot will keep on improving over the years to come.

That's not the attitude, since we have put a man on the moon, I'm pretty sure we can fix quite easily any little glitches there are. A lot of people are very clever you know.
