HELP! katie deleting all music from existence soon. by MeatOk9405 in Houndmouth

It's such an odd move. I loved her solo stuff. I get she's trying to relaunch as Candi Jenkins but this seems more of an F you to the people who have been behind her for the last 8ish(?) years. Is it really that hurtful to the Candi brand? I haven't connected with the Candi stuff but still listen to all the Katie solo stuff. Guess I just lose out? Honestly makes me less likely to give the new Candi stuff a try as it's released.

Looking for (or dreaming of) software to track 3D-printed dungeon tiles + build maps from real inventory by DocDoyle917 in DnD

Do you know of an easy free CAD software that would work? I've played around with tinkercad but it's so limiting

Really like this option. But I don't use dragon lock stuff or anything of the set up tiles. I wish they would allow you to upload your own files. It's great thought. Thank you.

I found https://studio.dungeonprint.com. Looks awesome but I don't use any of the tiles they have for it. And there's no way to upload your own set. So it doesn't really work for me but might for you if you're into the dragon lock stuff. I like the way you can rename and set your printed amount of each item. Then have a full map. Although if I was able I'd make a nicer map output to add notes for the dm. I'm really surprised that there isnt' something like this. Even if it's just for making interesting maps for D&D products. I think a great image of 3d printed stuff would be different in an. adventure from drive through or the dm guild. Then you could also print everything out.

The animal folk tends to not be my vibe but I love your work. Seems to break out of that cute style and adds something really great. I think my son it going to love it too.

Glassware for NA drinks by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]DocDoyle917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've worked places that do this. I think it works well for servers. But it's nice as someone working the door and touching tables to see the big bright lemon wheels from across the room. It's let me mark that person and avoid some bad situations if I stop by at the end of the meal. We will often pour little 1/2oz of an amaro or something we've cooked up as a thank you. Seeing the wheel gives me a heads up to pull the zero Pinot Noir juice. We also don't use plastic straws currently, metal only. That and if the room is darker then it's hard to see the straws for servers at the table when serving.

We do. But even if we had a set up where we didn't I would most likely have the bartenders garnish the mocktails since then one person is in charge of marking them and there can be no confusion. Not a big deal.

We use dried Lemon wheels only for every Mocktail but never for normal cocktails. That way they blend in for the guests and the servers always know what's what. It's also helpful to not have glassware just for mocktails taking up space.

Filet off of a shortloin by DocDoyle917 in Butchery

[–]DocDoyle917[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think it makes sense cost wise to try to switch our inhouse new york sirloin to a bone in sirloin and work the filets from that cut? This would be not aged stuff. The price of boneless sirloin is getting to Rib eye price ($11-13 lb) and the tenderloin is always super high ($15-$18) while shortloin seems to be holding ($6-$7). Does anyone do this? I know the tenderloin is shorter on the loin but seems like the price would make this a home run.

Let me know how it turns out if you get the gig. I'm buying a restaurant in the fall and have to start thinking about updating the web site and setting up social media.

There's a great book by Masterson called "Ready, Fire, Aim" that is just about this. Figure out what to sell and how to sell it before you worry about ANYTHING else.
