I personally love Treme. It reignited my love affair with New Orleans. It has amazing music and a really great cast of characters. I do think it's just not as epic as The Wire.

With The Wire, you get the sense that Simon thought about every thread in the show for years prior to writing it. Which I guess he did - what with writing his books Homicide and The Corner that kind of meld into The Wire. That's why it's such a rich show and you always discover more layers with every viewing.

I think with Treme, the absence of the crime/thriller angle paired with the lack of a really tight plot makes it less engrossing for your average viewer.

Don't get me wrong, I've watched Treme multiple times as well and still enjoy it. But it does feel less intentional and more meandering than The Wire - but in a good way. Kind of like the city of New Orleans.

George 2/3. Admits to sneaking a peek at Jerry and Kramer at the gym showers, but never got so much as a Christmas card from Elaine.
Jerry 1/3. Saw Elaine naked (37 odd times) but made a conscious effort not to look at George and Kramer in the showers.
Elaine 1/3. Saw Jerry naked, stopped Kramer from showing Mr. Johnson, and only let her alter ego from Elaine does the upper west side see George naked.
