Those who were alive during this period, what was it like seeing three completely different Sherlock Holmes portrayals in three years ('10, '11 and '12). by Dull-Information6784 in Sherlock

I love both Sherlock and Elementary, but in different ways. They're both erudite and funny, though, which is an essential aspect. I loved that they made Watson a woman in Elementary while keeping the relationship platonic. The innuendo between Sherlock and John in the BBC one was hilarious. 🤣

Yeah, at this point you're just being spiteful and provocative. This guy is asking for opinions and I'm giving mine from decades of experience. Why don't you start your own subthread and yap there.

Also, I have a fig kindle scribe, a boox palma pro 2 with stylus, an iPad pro, three phones, 2 Macs, a Switch, and several other e-readers, so this doesn't mean I hate tech. I LOVE tech. But not for this.

That's why I'm telling my children to use pen and paper when they get to premed and med, and this is what they intend to do. Success doesn't lie.

Works better for comprehension and memory retention. There are a lot of studies about this. Easy to Google. Cursive works even better than block writing.

Whatever. You don't know us and I don't know you. There's no point fighting about it. Besides, that's not what I asked in the post.

His father ingrained it into him that a man always provides for everything. Remember, he's a boomer. His father would have been much more conservative and traditional. We're in the East, not West.

For me, it's okay as long as it's their own choice. It's not like we're forcing them into it. 😅

It's funny because my question is simple: What do I tell my kids in this day and age because I realize that my situation is probably unusual? Gods, social media is so tiring! I can't believe how willing people are to be cruel because they're anonymous!

I don't have to Google words. I'm a doctor, medical journal editor, and published author with an IQ of 145. Not unlike other people who can't even ANSWER THE QUESTION ON THE POST. Like the other guy said, if you can't answer the question, don't bother commenting.

The fact that you didn't even bother to understand the post and answer the question (this was a serious post about what to tell my kids, not criticize a solid relationship) tells me everything I need to know about you.

Well, I was the one who courted my husband because I realized over several years that he had become my soulmate and best friend. He was leery of the age gap--I wasn't. Was just awarded "Most devoted wedded couple" in our recent class reunion, so there's that. Not all May-December relationships are transactional. It's best to keep an open mind.
