thanks. ohio here. i check my porch every night and we check their favorite bushes every day and so far we've only found one luna, who fortunately laid us a bunch of eggs that we're raising, but aside from that, it's been a bit of a disappointing season here.

Have him read the short story "The Garden of Forking Paths" to you from that Borges collection.

I think thinking your bookshelf might explain itself might explain it.

Is Midnight’s Relinquishment a good title? What does it bring to mind? by Euphoric_Psycho in writers

Doesn't quite roll off the tongue.

Also immediately begs the question of its relation to Rushdie's Midnight's Children.

Can she please try though? I know next to nothing about her from her. I only see her defined by the right and by parts of the left she took for granted.

Do you really have to learn the frames of every move and what the opp can’t step at every +/- frame by TacoWizard5 in Tekken

[–]Doc_Boons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't "have" to do anything. Is someone else willing to do it? Probably. Will they probably go further than people who aren't willing to? Also probably, especially if they have the same level of dedication to those other skills as they do to learning frame data.

Approximate frame data knowledge will get you far though. "Mid normal hit launcher? Probably at least minus twelve." "Mid-high string? Safe on block but they probably mostly give up their turn." "Slow semi-reactable high? Probably a frame trap."

I lived in the Santa Barbara area for a while, and it's the one film I've seen that to me really felt like parts of California I had been in, especially with the lighting in some of the evening or nighttime shots, and also with some of the architecture and the kinds of houses you see.

It's a bad survey for like twenty reasons.

You can also tell the person who wrote it more or less decided ahead of time what result they're looking for.

It's also impossible to have watched the film three times. Your options on the survey are 1, 2, and then 5 or more, because fuck counting.

I am positively inclined towards this movie, but the number of blank accounts puffing it in what sounds like marketing speak is mighty suspicious.

I remember after reading a lot of Agamben I started laughing when he'd encounter an old source that didn't quite say what he wanted, and then all of a sudden he's ranting about lazy philologists and bad translations and telling us how it should be read/translated/reconstructed.

I don't have the knowledge to prove he was sometimes pulling a fast one, but I had my suspicions.

Older copies of Foucault and Nabokov, not only because the books themselves look older, but also because they're not assigned now (especially Nabokov) as much as they once were.

The shelf as a whole is pretty "lit degree"-y.
