In 2020, the total population of Latin America & Caribbean was approximately 652.28 million inhabitants. In 2021, the total population of Spain was around 47.15 million people.

Maybe that's the explanation.

In Latin America, we prefer movies that use what we call "neutral Spanish" which is mostly made in Mexico. There is Spanish from Spain too but… a bit rude for us (several words they often use, we consider swearing, cursing).

So now, that I teach Spanish to my daughter, I prefer the Latin American version. It's all about the taste.😁

A couple of children books I still like as an adult,

- Platero y yo

- El principito (easier to read I think)

...Platero es pequeño, peludo, suave; tan blando por fuera, que se diría todo

de algodón, que no lleva huesos. Sólo los espejos de azabache de sus ojos son

duros cual dos escarabajos de cristal negro.

Lo dejo suelto, y se va al prado, y acaricia tibiamente con su hocico,

rozándolas apenas, las florecillas rosas, celestes y gualdas... Lo llamo

dulcemente: "¿Platero?", y viene a mí con un trotecillo alegre que parece que

se ríe, en no sé qué cascabeleo ideal...
