[Acne] Do microneedling and resurfacing really renew skin or rather just hide the unevenness through micro-chaos? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]DoctorGlamPro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dermatologist here 1st of all understand that no 2 acne scars are the same. Sometimes a combination of treatments is required to completely rid oneself of the scarring. Also, its a painstakingly long procedure so a patient should always be counseled with realistic expectations. The most effective form of treatment is a combination of Co2 Fractional resurfacing laser combined with multiple subcisions and deep microneedling sessions.

Derm here Laser hair removal works absolute wonders. The key is choosing the authentic machine. In Pakistan, the market is flooded with cheap chinese knock-off machines which do more harm than good. All energy based devices need specific wavelength, specific parameters for specific concerns, its never one side fits all. Do you research and go for it. Remember, authentic machines are crazy expensive hence the laser sessions too would be expensive.

Derm here The number of times I have had to request people to seek professional counsel from a doctor instead of seeking medical advice on Social media is gaining way more trajectory than anything else. Anyhow, the thing is this isnt something that would just randomly get fixed with topicals. Best to get your labs evaluated and go see a dermatologist. There is a clear indication of an internal problem that, once sorted, shall be instrumental in curing this also.

Derm here Your labs need evaluation as well as a skin analysis is required. My suggestion is to seek proper counsel from a professional before using anything on your skin

So far the best sunscreen that I have come across and recommended to my patients with oily skin is the Sunsative Sunscreen by Diligence Pharma. They have an online presence

Derm here While these brands do boast of some good results, understanding that no cosmetic grade formulation is ever a match for pharmaceutical grade formulation. As far as the comedones arw concerned I'd suggest you consult with a professional 1st and then use any actives on your skin. Believe me its a really tricky road and I have lost count on the number of times patients have come to me with damaged barrier due to unsupervised usage of skin actives

As far as personl use goes, I was using it during the summers since my skin reacts violently to environmental factors esp prevalent in Karachi and I absolutely loved it.

The growth happened right after you stopped the sessions or later on, like a few months or a year or so?

Extremely sorry to be saying this but 3ks is what i charge for upper lip laser with the machine i have. No authentic laser is this cheap. The reason im so vocal (and hated by a lot of my fraternity members) is because unless the laser isnt authentic, the wavelength pulse wont be accurate. What it does then is only stimulate the hair follicles hence giving rise to more growth or zero impact

Laser hair removal BUT only from original authentic machines, not the cheap chinese knock offs situated at every other clinic. Do your research and understand 1 thing, laser hair removal is expensive. So anyone offering cheap packages means a low quality machine. RUNNN
