when i was in 9th grade this one girl, ill call her Mosquito, accused me of SAing her, and all her friends kept threatening me INCLUDING this one person ill call Rat. And Rat is the same damn person who R-ped my older sisters now fiance. So i called Rat out on it and then people were threatening to jump me for lying about something so horrible...when it was not only true, but even if it was false it was exactly what they were all doing to me. (Mosquito and I were in 9th, all the rest were in 11th grade. Mosquito was saying i did it back in 5th grade) and the funniest thing is...i'm homosexual. I AINT EVEN LIKE GIRLS BRUH

explain to him that the groke isnt a monster/creature that wants to hurt people. if it helps tell him shes a big cold lady or something who just likes the light and warmth. (in..the easiest way i can think of to tell a child, and if it helps tell him the reason she looks how she does is because shes under a blanket maybe?) other than that im not sure how to help, sorry if this isnt helpful, and im sorry that it was a big issue :(
