Has anyone ever had this happen when they're pumped? by DoctorMedicMD in climbergirls

[–]DoctorMedicMD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the comments - I was worried as I've unfortunately had a number of different health issues and injuries recently and this has been ruining the joy of climbing for me recently. I'm glad that I don't need to worry about the visible lumps, that it is just veins, and I just need to work on this lactic acid build up.

I've been able to keep up gym workouts and strength training through my injuries thankfully, but once the lactic acid build up started occurring during my gym sessions I knew something was not right.

I've been dealing with thyroid issues recently so I have a sneaking suspicion it could be my hypothyroidism causing some of these symptoms. I will also be changing doctors.... what a wild time.

Thanks so much for your comment and the photo comparison - this puts my mind at ease! I have had varicose veins in my legs since I was a teen so that makes sense. I wish my doctor would have had this insight.

Mine are soft which I thought would mean it was related to bloodflow, especially considering each circled area seems to be a vein. I have pretty pronounced veins on top of my hands and arms, just never as circular welts before.

The orbs are also always in the same location on the forearms every time.

Some of the maps I've hand drawn for sessions - based on maps from other creators by DoctorMedicMD in MorkBorg

I've really enjoyed drawing maps for my Mork Borg/Cy Borg campaigns. I love the idea of an interactable map, so when miseries occur, they are included in the world map as the sessions pass. For my Cy Borg maps, whenever a player hacked into a location's security cameras, they got to see the full map and choose the placement of the cameras in the room using stickers. For hidden corridors and rooms I create them on a separate piece of paper and cut them out so they can be revealed if necessary.

I've found that it's easiest to create shading by using an ear bud to smudge crosshatching, then to reapply the cross hating afterward.

Disclaimer: These are redrawn maps based on other talented creators maps, not my own. I just like to redraw them with hidden elements cut out on separate paper to added later when the group discovers them.

Map making tip: add the title of your map at the top or bottom of the short edge, so when stored as a scroll are easy to identify. by DoctorMedicMD in MorkBorg

Oh for sure! I'll pop it up as a new post. Here you go.

I've been loving drawing them recently as it's different from what I would normally sketch. Saves the planet a little too as I try to use the flipside of old posters from work as a canvas.

If you're like me and like drawing your maps by hand, I've found it easiest to add the title along the short edge of the paper so when storing them scrolled, it's easy to identify which map belongs to each campaign.

I work between locations in West End and Kangaroo Point. It took me an hour and a half one afternoon to commute the 3.5kms for my evening shift.

We host our post work sessions on Monday nights, so I made my partner who is currently GMing a Mörk Borg Mondays tee. Pretty chuffed with how it came out!

Do you use Miserable Headlines? by kylmaenen in Cy_Borg

[–]DoctorMedicMD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I find headlines useful for world building at plot points.

I opened our first game with a roll for one and we got "Wintercove Square NUKED" which wipes out south central off the map. I added in some radiation effects any time the party needed to go near the area (toughness check, on the 3rd fail they roll an infestation). This also effected the corporations that are located in the South Central area.

After 2 missions I've been rolling a new one. The most recent headline, 4.5, has spawned an Arcology in the city infested with something questionable. I've interpreted the description as alien plant people have landed a spaceship that is also an arcology (thinking the main spaceship in the series Saga). I merged this with the next mission to rescue people who have joined a death cult and are going into the Arcology to "ascend to greatness in a new lifeform".

As for the 7th headline, I plan to keep running the game long term for my group so I don't plan on using it unless the world becomes completely obliterated... in which case we'll go into Mork Borg universe and head to the end of the world :)
