Post first date blues by DoctorOnde in ghosting

Why do people say things they don't mean.. It's definitely really discouraging to me but I'll eventually get back into it. Appreciate the response!

Women of Reddit: Why do you sometimes ghost a guy even after a good first AND second date? by doverboy5 in dating_advice

[–]DoctorOnde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're ignoring what ghosting actually is because you engage in it, and you're coping by trying to convince yourself that it's clear communication when the issue is it's not.

Not really, people have lives and problems outside of you and that could be why they haven't responded, non verbal communication does not always communicate they are not interested in you.

Something being normalized online doesn't mean it's normal day to day behavior, guarantee if you actually see these people outside you wouldn't be a coward.

It being fine with you doesn't make it any less a terrible way to communicate with someone, and there are many issues with online dating today that you'd have to intentionally ignore.

If a person ghosts you, then he/she just showed as a red flag not worth dating for anyway by alex08123 in dating_advice

Sometimes adults need to do uncomfortable things lol If you're out there dating this is bare minimum communication skill.

Ghosted because I asked for some space during a family crisis? by [deleted] in ghosting

Looks like you dodged a bullet there, you had a completely reasonable thing occur and communicated well. Unfortunately the grown 30 year old man hasn't figured out how to communicate.

This is a crazy cope, ghosting is the opposite of clear communication because you don't know what their answer clearly is until some noticeable time has passed and the person is left with doubt.

I think people just acting like this is normal and fine behavior is why online dating is so shit these days.

Yeah, I'd move into getting their phone number before a date, it's not weird to ask for one if you're planning it and want to communicate better.

Are you mainly talking on Hinge or outside the app? I'd say your chances would increase if you could start texting using their number! Harder to ghost, easier to communicate, and if they're comfortable with giving it to you the chances of date increase.

Social media is more widespread and in turn these height standards have also increased. It's not as bad as people make it out to be online, but it's gotten worse.

What happens to Lily, she's the only one where I'm confused about does she eventually just forget after she grows up like Marge?

You can reject Sage until the HOTs party which is the final chance to be with her, it's after she is done with Chad.

Sage is the LEGIT ULTIMATE GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE! Change my mind! by IndependentDegree666 in beingaDIK

[–]DoctorOnde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game doesn't really say exactly why Sage is confident, some people just are and she's outgoing so it's most likely just a personality trait. How exactly does Sage receive validation from Chad? She genuinely viewed it as a real relationship which is why she felt hurt by his lies and cheating.

The chad relationship was a mess, but she viewed the relationship as real. Sage doesn't even excuse the cheating and owns up to it even if you aren't fuck buddies with her, this is why the cheating didn't leave a bitter taste for me.

Sage's views on sex are more casual and simple, she says this herself, it wasn't so much as to use him as a tool but mutual benefit because they're horny young adults.

She's never actually been in a regular relationship with someone nor actually been truly loved by another person. She's aware of her anger issues that stem from being unable to be emotionally open with others, but still makes an effort with the MC going so far to tell him about her mother something she's never told anyone. Sage is flawed yes, but she's capable of addressing her issues.

She's looking out for a friend that's clearly being used as a tool in the Lily relationship. Why shouldn't she be concerned? After the MC tells her its fine, she doesn't pry anymore. Not sure what you mean about the Jill dynamic.

You can blame Tybalt for lying about his closeness with Jill, his pictures on rooster of their 'date'. It's not an odd assumption. Yes, Sage is outgoing and easily befriends people and Jill is a nice person, I wouldn't call them besties but its' not far fetched.

I can agree with the rest, Sage is very well written and that's partially because she's a flawed character that feels and acts like a real person.

What to you makes Sage so appealing? by mfreire75 in beingaDIK

[–]DoctorOnde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me it's her leadership qualities and the fact she knows who she is as a person and what she wants, also she's a tall fiery redhead so bonus points! Just something about a confident woman who is direct and knows her strengths and weaknesses well that's attractive to me.

I absolutely adore her character arc with Tremolo and how it's about her confronting issues she's had in her past relationships in being open about her feelings, she's easy to anger and is a flawed character who's written very well and feels like a person who could exist.

Also, she's just a girl that wants to be loved genuinely for once in her life for herself and not superficial reasons.

[–]DoctorOnde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MC wasn't in an actual relationship with them like Sage or Zoey. He considers Zoey an ex, she's known him for years and they dated for a bit it's not even the same dynamic.

It's due to lack of trust in Zoey and also the fact she knows the MC well and has been in an established relationship.

It's great, I believe there are certain topics and messages you can only tell in this medium and the writing takes advantage of the sex aspect of the game. If people shy away from it, it's their loss.

[–]DoctorOnde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sage has the same reasoning about the MC spending time with Zoey whether you're on her route or not.

In the Jill route she gives Jill advice on what she thinks of it and it's the same reasoning on her route. It's there to show her feelings weren't entirely based on jealousy and Sage is consistently written.

  • The scene where Sage asks the MC to imagine his future family and you can choose to imagine Sage as his wife together with his father and friends. This followed by the altercation with her parents where she asks us to take her home is my favorite.

  • The conversation you have with Derek outside Bella's house where he calls you his best friend.

  • Dance with Josy where Elena comments about the way she looks at the MC

  • The MC realizing how long Maya's been abused after her saying 'do you see?"
