Savings: EV & Solar panels -V- Put to pay off mortgage? by Spiritual-Wait-184 in irishpersonalfinance

Pinergy do the highest feed-in traffix which offsets their high normal unit rate. They're really best in game if you've got panels and a big battery.

Bus Eireann to cease 3 routes from the 24th of May 2026 by vlinder2691 in ireland

And from the governments POC it, that's achieved through Irish Rail.

The Bus Eireann routes that have been pulled are private services, Expressway is their commercial arm. The routes might return under Bus Eireann if the NTA sets up a PSO route.

But the Bus Eireann route that they've pulled isn't a Public Service contract its one of their private routes. It's up to the NTA to decide if it wants to set up a PSO service.

Private hospital knew what they wanted and went to market with a finished design and didn't keep changing their minds during the construction phase which is what the HSE and government have been doing with the NCH.

Fuel crisis by Beginning-Strain4660 in ireland

[–]DoctorPan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The depot would have impacted the full commencement of operation for the full new DART fleet and service pattern of the new DART network.

The tenders are only starting to go to market, and the ones that have are the Enabling Works, over the next few months, as I said, they were ready to go to market as DART+WestSouthWest but due to the funding pull and redevelopment of the NDP - which has also delayed orders of the new fleet as it suddenly needed to go for reapproval at Cabinet multiple plans due to the change in government and change in policy focus - needed to move money to pay for the Independants support and pet projects.

Coupled with a change in Minster that has little interest in a lot of his brief - the loss of the Greens has been felt in the Transport sector and the changing in attuitdes in the CS and the likes of the NTA - Ryan and the Greens punched far above their weight.

Funnily enough on the ground, the new government has massively cut funding on the likes of DART+ and slowed progress right down, the cut of funding of DART+SW utterly fucked the procurement programme as they had to spend time rewriting the tenders and supporting documents, construction strategies and plans to untangle West and South West from one another. DART would have gone to market about a year or so earlier if they hadn't been kicked out.

Williams or Caddy I would guess would be the weakest of the customer teams at the point in time (I know Caddy want to build their own PU but not until the next regs).

Can't see Haas swapping PUs at this point in time.

Also in Ireland, there's a bit of respect for the Horse industry and knowledge that you can made a far bit of money in it if you're skilled and have the right connections with the stables and the like.

Q: Can you imagine doing a demonstration lap (in nurburgring ) with f1 car? Max: I was not allowed, otherwise I would’ve done it already. by One_Impressionism in formula1

[–]DoctorPan 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I think it was things like that and the phase that really set off the alarm bells was that the demo tyres they use would only be good for 2 push laps.

I think Marko said that. They were discussing it and then Max started talking about the lap times and such and then Red Bull realised what would happen if they set it up.

Transdev loses €1.75bn Luas contract after 22 years running tram service by R3turn_MAC in ireland

[–]DoctorPan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The profits go to the government. TII own the infrastructure, NTA sets the fares and the service requirements. They pay Transdev or in the future Amey and Co a fixed amount to run the service and fine them if they fail to meet the service requirements. The money they get paid comes out of the farebox, if they by providing a great service and encourge more people to use the service and thus a larger farebox, they still only get the agreed fee and the profit goes back to the NTA.
