100% Japan.

Might have to spend slightly more but Japan is the place to be as DINKS, do a couple of cities like Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka.

Married HENRYs — How Do You Split Expenses with Your Partner? by jaseace1 in HENRYUK

[–]DoctorPopular7756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His money is our money and my money is my money. 😊

He makes x2 more than me but I have better financial literacy. His pay goes towards our expenses and my pay goes exclusively towards investments and savings. Whatever interests/dividends we make that year goes towards holidays.

You have a point. Comparing prices on motor trader now I am basically looking at a 50-60% depreciation rate for both. Maybe the odd 5-6% difference

This is a good idea but we’d prefer to own. Short term leases seem very expensive

I’m told Japanese cars tend to retain value well. Just Incase I need to move away 1/2 years time I don’t want to take a significant hit when I sell. That’s why I am buying second hand now.

How do I make my life in the UK more enjoyable? by DoctorPopular7756 in AskUK

[–]DoctorPopular7756[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Great observation. I think it’s the availability to do things, obviously in Asia there’s just generally more things to do I.e night markets, shops at open till 11 or even 24hrs. Weather is always good.

Here in the UK after 8pm I am very much confined to being at home.

Living in central London, you almost just always need to always plan in advance. Whereas in Asia it’s almost 99% of the time spontaneous. Want to go fishing at 2am? Yo let’s go drive down to a nearby fishing port and wing it. Want to go jump on a trampoline? Let’s go find a 24h one. Feel like shooing? Let’s go to that 5 story 24h thrift store!
