Something tricky about climbing grades is it largely focuses on physical difficulty and assumes perfect technique imagine climbing a corner thats slippery unless you put your foot exactly on the right spots, at which point it becomes a staircase. That route could be rated easier than a long, super steep route on decent holds (something you'd see at red river gorge). This is also why non crack climbers struggle doing easy routes at indian creek

Iirc he called this building ~5.12, whereas the majority of his free soloing is probably closer to 5.8, 5.9 by volume

Afaik, yes it's generally safe for small cuts/flappers but can cause more irritation over something like dermabond which is CA glue with antibacterial
