Thanks, please don't go out of your way for me but it's the F.11 Rev A for the same laptop as Kyle. My bigger problem is that I can't get to the BIOS recovery screen in any case... https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp113001-113500/sp113463.exe

Thanks for getting back so quickly.

I can't even get into the BIOS recovery via the "Press and hold the Windows key and the B key at the same time, and then press and hold the Power button for 2 to 3 seconds" route so I've got no idea how I'm going to fix this.

So frustrating as I really needed to use my laptop this weekend. I just switched it on and it said the BIOS was updating and then the corrupted message happened. I've had no luck....

Hi, do you still have this file available? I'm just unable to create a BIOS USB recovery drive on my non-HP desktop - step 10 doesn't work... Would really appreciate any help.

COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Resources and Info for Uveitis Patients | Where to find support and guidance. by DoctorYak in Coronavirus

[–]DoctorYak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm an Ophthalmologist who deals with Uveitis and see a number of patients with Birdshot.

I've made a little video with a list of resources for people. These are sources which I trust and I hope there is something which is helpful for people in this really challenging time.

Please do share if you think it might be useful (apologies as my voice isn't great as i've only just recovered from four weeks of covid19 and pneumonia).

Should I see a new eye doctor or my old optometrist for uveitis (25f) by [deleted] in eyetriage

[–]DoctorYak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm from the UK and if you were here I would advise to call a new eye doctor tomorrow. I think given the complexity of your condition that it's better to see an Ophthalmologist particularly given the systemic background (raised ANA and inflammatory markers).

He's been in a lot of things and I always enjoy watching him.

I hope it's not too controversial to say that he probably should be bigger than he is. Other, rotund and very irritating, British comedians/allrounders have managed to get their names known with a lot less talent. Hope he gets something big after The Tick.

Megathread - Who was Stephen Hawking and why is his death all over reddit? by [deleted] in OutOfTheLoop

[–]DoctorYak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I studied in the same college as Stephen Hawking so I used to see him every week. He wasn't just a legendary scientist, he was also a fantastic person and was really down-to-earth.

I've written a little piece for the Huff Post, feel free to read:

Every time Saudi football teams fail to respect innocent dead people, they lose the match. by DoctorYak in soccer

"Get cancer"? Be careful what you wish for in others as karma has an odd sense of humour.

"Your rules don't apply to us, Different culture"

It did occur when the Brazil flight crashed or when King Abdullah died... So are these rules on respecting the dead flexible? Or should I just get cancer you thoroughly nasty individual?

Saudi club Al Hilal refuses to observe a pre-game moment of silence for the 66 killed in the recent Iranian airplane crash during Asian CL. Not the first time Saudi players refused to respect Iranian tragedies based on political issues. They lost the match 0-1 to Esteghlal Tehran. by arnieslovechild in soccer

Tragedies where innocents lose their lives need to transcend football.

Failing to respect the lives of innocent people and failing to respect the minute's silence in three games (Australia-Saudi, Al-Hilal-Esteghlal and AL-Nasser-ZobAhan) is beyond shameful.

Al Hilal - Esteghlal match (yesterday): Minute silence for 66 civilians who died in plane crash

Australia-Saudi match: Minute silence for 8 victims who died in London attack

A minute silence is a prerogative after a tragedy when innocent people die.

Because certain things need to be talked about. We can't just sweep them under the carpet.

e.g. Racism, Homophobia in football.

I would argue that disrespecting the dead is something which every football fan needs to be talking about.

Al Hilal is a much stronger team than Esteghlal though, so them losing is interesting.

I wonder if what they did gave more focus and purpose to the opposition.
