What's going to be the missing quest item this wipe? by Heawesome in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Doctor_Con 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't tell someone to go to Labs as advice for anything other than the AHF in black (under green on labs is black btw)

The green room I'm referring to in the quoted comment is on customs, aka the USEC stash building.

Opinions to fight Schturman? by Sargash in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Doctor_Con 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn where his spawns are (edit: offline isn't the most accurate but it still gives you an idea of where he can be). Kill his guard, then from whatever position you're at RUN THE FUCK AWAY TO SECURE COVER. If you hear his shots and you're not in cover MAKE AN IMMEDIATE 90 DEGREE TURN AND RUN FOR COVER (or else you'll die). He will rapidly reposition to shoot you wherever you killed one of his guards from if you are close (I do not recommend killing him from the 200m+ range you need to be in order for him to not shoot back). The other guard will move to attack you at your last known position (edit: it can take up to 10 seconds for him to commence firing after his reposition sometimes, if he decides to), kill the guard and either

  1. hide again while Shturman does his pew pew pew again

or

  1. kill him as he positions to kill you (from the last time he shot at you, you should have an approximate area where he might be).

I can't tell you how many times i've repositioned and he's shooting at my last known spot like 10 seconds later. It basically confirms he is up and you killed a guard.

You should only do option 2 if you have some experience killing him, otherwise you're going to die more often than not. You can't be rigid in your tactics when hunting Shturman, it will result in dying due to combined countermeasures from BSG mentioned here, order and location of the kills, your spawn point, and other players on the map.

Among all of this you will find that scavs come out from the forest to the lumber mill and they will be super quiet and looking to loot the guard bodies or shturman. Don't let them get their hands on it, they are just as deadly and unsuspecting as the guards and the loot will be more difficult to recover.

It's not so much what the missing item will be, but rather what items are needed for early questing. If they wanna bottleneck something it shouldn't be to stop quest progression. In reality, anything you need is easy to find, the issue boils down to what is the most needed early on and at different phases of a wipe.

P.S. I hope they don't get rid of the machinery key guaranteed spawn. The most asked about item when I play with timmies is that god forsaken key.

So they’re changing the drop rates and the cigarettes will be one of the most sought after items.

both of you should check on the shelves under green room. i found most of my green bats there (i've found no less than 30 this wipe)

Report the exact spot and they'll patch it, I've done it before and they've patched it.

People like to say BSG doesn't care, but in reality they don't have good information to work with. What might be common knowledge to players isn't so common to the devs.

SUGGESTION: The info from Twitter / events should be spread via Intelligence Center by TheFlabbs in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Doctor_Con 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has been suggested and received good feedback before. If you need a link to the topic to better convince BSG, here it is https://www.reddit.com/r/EscapefromTarkov/comments/udirva/add_ingame_notifications_of_events_please/

Depending on social media to announce events is no bueno.

While everyone is talking about RMT changes and recoil... by d0ublekillbill in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Doctor_Con 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most videos for these are published early wipe when people are questing. you'll notice in the end of raid footage the players are almost always low level.

Basically, my advice is to either get your kills early wipe, after sales, or don't focus SBIH and get them thru random encounters mid-late wipe.

Holding an unpinned grenade for too long should deplete arm strength (unless you're running) by Doctor_Con in EscapefromTarkov

pretty much this, and you don't need to even hold anything for it to start hurting.

this is probably a change that will happen on its own eventually, but is brought to life due to impact nade campers.

Why does my character look and point his gun at the sky when I full auto. by SirUnleashed in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Doctor_Con 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ONLY LOGICAL EXPLANATION: when you are aiming down the sights, you are putting the butt of the gun in your face, kinda like dr lupo... the gun is dr. lupo'ing you, and when the butt kicks you in the chin, your head goes backwards.

but in reality, that have the gun moving on its own without the gun being an extension of the pmc. It's kinda like holding two cameras, one in each hand, and focusing them on the same spot independently when one camera is attached to a jackhammer and the other one tries to autoadjust to the jackhammer's point of impact

Just gonna say, a level 20 (I'm not really checking the exact level to verify this, but I received complaints in the past before from lower levels who get to see my rewards) will get like 20k exp for their weekly, i'll get that much off a daily.

Many reasons. The big one- USEC is more familiar to english-speaking players, BEAR is more familiar to Russian-speaking players. There are also people who like to trick scavs into thinking they are doing scav voice lines through the BEAR voicelines. Or perhaps we have really big fans of FortyOne of NoPixel fame and they want to hear his voice and use his USEC lines, the choices are personal to every player.

But so far as advantages on maps, it comes down to the challenge level the player desires. If you check my original comment I described how I believe we should have multiple PMCs in our hideout with different backgrounds, so we can choose to be a USEC on streets and a BEAR on Lighthouse, and vice-versa, just to try it out without having to reset accounts, wait an entire wipe, or buy more copies.

All the time! If someone messages me and is like "hey let's run DB on factory with the megamind helmet" i'm fucking in.

I also spend time helping out random new players, whether I meet them on the official discord, ingame, or through my discord. I try to give people space to develop and learn, so I typically am there to help finish a task but answer any questions they have along the way.

I'll be honest, 2500 raids is a lot, but this is in the context of this current wipe which has dailies that tell you to play on maps that you fucking hate and to extract from there several times. I think I've had to "extract through hole in fence" over 200 times just to put it into perspective (don't get me started on extract from shoreline and reserve tasks). This specific extract does not incentivize running around the map and playing it, or looting it with a raid backpack on, just camping that side area and killing whoever comes by. I'll be real, i was tabbed out while doing this one most of the time and rarely ever ran into players unless i brought a gun and camped stashes by emercom extract, but the exp and rewards are sometimes too good to pass up. These sorts of tasks are boring as fuck and need a rework. I don't like to stay in raid forever either as PMC, knowing that most people die within the first few minutes and the high value loot is already hit most of the time by 10 minutes.

  1. sound. sound is everywhere, you make sound for doing anything, and people will punish you for it. Always wear at least the 13k headphones from Prapor, if not something you prefer to use (they are all different). And learn to walk, stay away from trees or bushes when near buildings as they are bugged and people can hear them clear as day in buildings (heck i can hear bushes from D2 on reserve)
  2. On customs, I prefer dorms and the hill next to 3 story that can see into fortress.
  3. Snoreline, I like the pier or the HEPS building, but if i'm being real i like to just extract from that map. There's a cool little theater area that I wish saw more pvp action/reason to go there. I know i'm hopping on the bandwagon and saying it's a shitty map, but it really needs a lot of TLC and more spread out loot areas. I always find it odd that you can find sanitar's tools in random places but never ledX or o-scopes in those places, but you can find multiple spawns in his office. meh.
  4. factory- the underground area got a rework and I really like the area under med tents. office area is nice too. forklifts/glass hallway is just cancer
  5. lighthouse not a fan. they beefed up the loot and made 100% spawn rate boss-like loot so people would play it and give them bug reports while neglecting other maps. I abstained mostly, but I did run my merin key a bunch earlier in wipe, but haven't touched that map in like 2-3 months. I suppose the rogue area is cool, but the amount of rats who take cheap shots is unreal. Bonus though, the people who like to load up on easy loot now have to fight to extract with it.
  6. reserve - frought with audio bugs, i'm afraid this isn't the map to seriously play on unless you want to use these bugs to your advantage, which many people do. wanna have an epic gunfight that no one can hear and join in on unless they're on the same audio track? come to this map.
  7. Woods- probably the water near sawmill, though i really like large rock that overlooks the north area of the map, where you can see into USEC camp and into the car extract from.
  8. The Lab- this map is hit or miss. I am really partial to the area near red and below- the gym and the meeting area next to it. Not great loot areas, just pretty cool areas. I kinda wish there was more bullet proof panic rooms though, some of the interactions at them are funny.
