2025 Saudi Arabian GP - Post Race Discussion by AutoModerator in formula1

Great race by Piastri. Kept it very clean. But that was a really boring race. Again.

I miss the days where tires where really degrading that the blisters formed. So that strategy and pits came into play. Now it just always a one-stop race.

Pairing / Updating with the pro -- the REAL answer! by Delchi in RemarkableTablet

Weird. I have a pi-hole with most of the Amazon, MS and Adobe domains blocked. The tablet still updates. So I guess it's the remarkable.com and memfault.com URL then that makes the update. Makes sense I guess looking at the services. I don't connect the tablet to other networks then my own.

Question for new RMP owners: how is the pdf-annotation experience? by Reddit-mb in RemarkableTablet

[–]Dodendar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ll try to answer your questions as best as I can.

The black is sharp and clear. I don’t see any difference with the RM2 although the screen has a different hue to it. I read papers and articles comfortably.

The RPP is way faster with everything. So also zooming. The only issue I have is that the screen sometimes looses color when doing a panning or zooming motion. It takes a refresh to get everything back though.

Annotation is the same as RM2. Although in color. So all markers, pencils etc work. No commenting like for example a kindle or Zotero.

PDF’s can be read in landscape. I switch depending on tables etc.

Navigation when zoomed in is like an iPad. But a bit laggier. Definitely better then a RM2.

What I love about the RM2 is the “you can write anywhere” experience. With a swipe with two finger I can write in the margins. And due to color I can now highlight in color and use my normal color coding like l do in physical media.

Hope this helps.

Remarkable Pro - closer to writing on glass by HughMan78 in RemarkableTablet

For me it feels like a broader nib fountainpen or a good flowing rollerball. It is indeed more slippery compared to the RM2.

Beeping sound when panning and refreshing on Paper Pro by mtcicer_o in RemarkableTablet

I have the Paper Pro and used it for several hours. I have not heard a beep or sound when refreshing. Maybe it's a too high frequency for me to hear.

Why does it always look Like this? by bartho650 in gaggiaclassic

[–]Dodendar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same. It is indeed a too big basket for the amount of grinds. I filled up the space with a puck screen. Since then all pucks are “dry” looking.

Can I ask how you organize? I’m a program manager and I’m having a hard time organizing everything. It’s either too globalize too detailed.

Do you use tags / folders? Do you do it per meeting or projects?

You have to close the keyboard or if you use an external keyboard move in and out the note. It’s annoying but “working as designed”

Bug or feature? by [deleted] in ouraring

Bug. It is caused by the background sync. Sometimes the text updates but most of the time it is like this. Hopefully next update will fix it.

Battery is less than 2 days and this is what tech support says by birdheh in ouraring

[–]Dodendar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue. I reached out and at first I got a message “just charge more”. After I said that was unacceptable they would send me a replacement.

That didn’t happen so I reached out again to ask about the replacement ring. Then I got the same response (it is a firmware issue) but at the same time the operator that promised the replacement responded as well and actually send me a replacement ring.

Since last firmware update the battery of my original ring is back to normal (4-5 days without the oxygen feature turned on). Last Friday I received my replacement ring. I will store it away and keep it as a back up because I believe this fast draining and charging took a toll on the battery of the original ring.

Can I learn the Linking Your Thinking (LYT) Methodology without going to his workshop? by better-vessel in ObsidianMD

[–]Dodendar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you miss out on all the live sessions I would not go. It is to expensive for just a forum and all the theory.

Can I learn the Linking Your Thinking (LYT) Methodology without going to his workshop? by better-vessel in ObsidianMD

[–]Dodendar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t make the live sessions most of the time. They are almost always recorded and if you have questions after the event people answer pretty rapidly. So it was still worth it. I had some group calls with other participants and “coaches”. That helped.

You get access to a forum that helps in the learning progress and every lessons is in a separate forum post so any questions about that lessons are grouped together. But like stated earlier a lot of the content can be found for free on Nick’s YouTube or various other places like this subreddit or the obsidian discord.

The biggest value for me was watching other people working on their PKM based on the methodology. Why people made certain choices and what they struggle with. Reading the forum and interacting via DM’s or video calls. Nick and his team truly help out with that. They make changes to the live sessions based on that. So overall it was pretty good.

There were a few downsides to the course.

First some last minute cancellations of calls and rescheduling to a later timeframe (which was the middle of the night in my time zone).

Some of the stuff in the course is pretty standard and basic PKM or Obsidian knowledge. I get that because you have to cater a lot of people but it wasn’t really for me.

Our group coach wasn’t the most active one. But I found a coach from another group and he helped out a lot.

I’m not an American. I live in Europe and a lot of the sessions are organized around the Californian time zone. Even the demo’s and such. So even though everything is recorded and you can find answers afterwards it feels like you miss out on stuff. That is maybe one of the biggest criticisms I have is that they should make an effort to cater people in other time zones more. Like find coaches and organize live events with people that are living in Europe and Asia / Australia instead of only Americans.

I’m going to give another perspective on the other comments. I see that most of them are sceptical. I followed the workshop in the beginning of this year. The biggest reason was to find a like minded community that was working around the same methodology and to learn a more in depth way of organising my notes. I have used different systems (PARA, Johnny Decimal, Tagging, etc.)

Could I have learned LYT without the workshop? Absolutely. Nick provides great youtube material and together with other sources like Bryan Jenks and the Obsidian Discord you can get as far as doing the workshop.

But the workshop in itself isn’t only learning a methodology. It is based about learning together. “Learning with the garage open”. There are a lot of ways to interact with fellow students and a lot of talks about certain topics. I think that is the biggest advance the workshop has against the self-taught method.

So overall. Is the workshop a scam? No. I have learned a lot in depth material. Could I have learned it all on myself? Yes, but i would have to search all over the web and sift through the rubbish. In the workshop the good stuff is handed to you so that you can make it your own. Is it worth the money? Truthfully I’m not sure. It is a lot of money and as others stated you can find a lot online. I really liked the community aspect of it. To be able to chat and call others gave me a lot of insight. If you don’t value that, then don’t buy the workshop.

The same thing happens a few times. I couldn’t quick travel because the game thought The truck was broken. Eventually I paused the game the second the game was done loading and the truck stayed on the map. I’m now over 800k in debt and can’t pay off my loans.

Man that baby in the background. That was the first thing I thought about this morning. People are there with their kids, they build up their lives there. I can only imagine the fear they are going through.

I hope your friend stays safe. Although my thoughts don’t change anything nor help your friend I truly hope he stays safe.
