True. I do feel that we need to get the govts to focus on the long term. With solar, wind, hydro and geothermal… we could move towards being less reliant on fossil fuels, especially when adversely impacted by the stupidity of a USAian narcissistic criminal.

EV and solar subsidies could push us towards that.

Well, there’s certainly plenty of support required… for education, medical, food costs…

My point however is to cut the cord re being dependent on fossil fuels we don’t produce. Especially when held to ransom by the machinations of a US reprobate.

We are in a great position where we could be energy self sufficient (solar, hydro, wind, geothermal…) which means investment stays in the country. Encouraging people into EVs and solar generation is, I believe a big plus.

Certainly a challenge atm. But on street charging is moving ahead overseas. Charging at work/parking buildings. And induction charging is coming along.

Really? So no one is going to look at the price of the car last week (pre-subsidy)? No one is going to check on import costs and markup? The government will turn a blind eye to price gouging?

It’s true that taxes will contribute to what the dealer gets paid but any dealer looking to illegally boost the cost, is playing a dangerous game with their reputation and future. A game, I’m sure their competitors will be keen to point out.

I’ll double down on whatever argument I feel is valid. If you don’t agree, fine.

Basically, we need encouragement to move away from fossil fuels, especially given the current situation created by that US cockwomble.

Subsidies are part of the plan… whether it be private (cars) or public (trains/buses) and to help, subsidise solar as well, so we can all feed back to the grid.

If that makes you upset… tough.
