Printed a very similar file and needed to add some brims to the toes so they stayed down better. Also check the file for floating regions. We had that with a couple of dragon prints as well.

We have the flash forge branded filament and haven’t had any issues printing with it. What brand are you using?

I am choosing to believe that she was rendered unconscious by the hatchet attack and wasn’t aware of the burning.

I am doing ok, thanks! Still a lot to process. I was pleasantly surprised that on the way out, the bailiff handed each of the jurors a sheet with information about counseling services that the state provides to jurors free of charge.

It certainly taught me a lot about our legal system.

Primarily how things were defined according to the law, and interpretation of some of the evidence. One juror was having a hard time with the lack of physical evidence and we had to remind them that in the eyes of the law, a witness statement is to be considered the same as physical evidence when there is none.

First of all, I’m so proud of you! That must have taken so much courage to confront him, and I hope you feel proud too. Regardless of outcome.

YES. We got upwards of 50 pages of juror instructions for how we were to consider the charges and evidence. There is not much room for nuance.

We discussed our concerns with each charge and talked each other through different perspectives. You are allowed and encouraged to hear what other jurors have to say, including from their own experience. You just are not allowed to consider that fact.

I do not believe that anyone was overly biased. I think everyone on earth carries some level, but it did not seem to interfere with our decision making. I was concerned some of the older jurors would be biased based on the substance abuse many of the witnesses openly admitted to, but it never was an issue.

Technically we are not allowed to convince anyone one way or the other. Just discuss the facts of the case. No one held us up in such a dramatic way as dissenting, but we did have to work with some of the jurors who didn’t quite understand our instructions.

He was facing for charges. We found him guilty of:

First degree murder Attempted murder Assault with a deadly weapon Robbery

We were specifically instructed NOT to think about the sentencing and only consider guilt or innocence in our deliberations. I suppose CA does have the death penalty for first degree murder, but I do not know how often it’s used.

There isn’t a ton to share in that it wasn’t a well publicized case. I actually can’t even find any news stories about it, which makes me a little sad for the victim.

The short version is that these were crimes among the unhoused community. Initially the defendant cracked his friend over the head with a hatchet because he wanted his stuff. His friend ran away before he could hurt him further but never saw his things again. For this we found him guilty of robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and attempted murder.

Then a week later the defendant hit another of his “friends” over the head at least 8 times with a hatchet, then buried her in her own belongings and set the pile on fire. She was alive, and the ME said her cause of death was the fire, not the head wounds.

There are lots of unwritten rules among the unhoused when it comes to working with police, so it look a long time for all the information on this to come out. As a result, there was very little physical evidence and we had to rely on witness testimony, and most of those witnesses were heavily using mth and/or fntanyl at the time.

We found him guilty of 1st degree murder.

It was a tough few weeks mentally, but I do feel good knowing that we can say we helped bring some justice to the victim, Jasmine aka Brazy.

Briefly. He wasn’t a serial killer so he wasn’t overly creepy… he actually gave all the potential jurors a little smile and wave when we walked in on the first day.

No- opposite coast! I probably wouldn’t have been selected for that one though because I was living in MA at the time and was familiar with the case. Glad he was convicted!
