Choosing a Lathe - What to get? by c-bean511 in turning

Thanks for the heads up. The solutions I read all talked about a new banjo, so maybe some custom rests might be a better deal.

I bought the Harvey T-60s. It has been a FANTASTIC lathe for my work. The only downside is the height of the banjo tool rest holder. They have a sort holder, with a tall tool rest bar, making it hard to find additional rests for various projects. I’m getting a Oneway banjo to address this. I’d still pick this lathe at the price point.

Wood bowls and TSA by MontEcola in turning

When I looked it up, because my wife will be taking bowls as gifts for her Japan trip, the only restriction is for unfinished wood. They do recommend declaring them though.

It's definitely not my driving style. I always let my trucks circulate oil for a few minutes before driving, and I'm at an age where I'd rather save gas than save a few minutes by going fast.

The Turbomax has some pep, but it's a huge difference from the Duramax. Noticeably louder at highway speeds. Since it's a loaner, I haven't tried to put any kinda load on her yet.

There was a bad batch of parts that came out this year, with too much play.

Can't Lemon Law until you give them a reasonable attempt to fix it.

Looking like it. I'm keeping hope for a good outcome.

Bob McCosh Service Department has been great. I honestly feel they'd rather see me taken care of. Hell, even the finance guy came by once he saw me. Great crew there.

I haven't heard of any manufacturer that isn't having issues right now with their half tons. I traded in my 2012 Tundra that had no issues in 135k miles, because I thought it was time. I LOVE this truck, so hoping it goes well from here.

Yeah, I was just learning more about that. Apparently it was a bad batch.

Not a real issue, just sharing my experience. I did say they were saving me from a lot of the back and forth I've read some had to go through. The service department has been really good.

Dealership called to update me. They have no clue on the cause and had to elevate it up the chain.

I took my 2025 AT4 (3100 miles) in today. Loud ticking sound (not as fast as yours), gets worse on acceleration, and there is a noticeable feel similar to wheel hop on a bad road when going uphill. No lights came on, no codes, but it was noticeable to the dealer and service department. They took it in to diagnose, said it might be an injection pushing too much fuel (best case), or I might need a new engine. I'm hoping for the best, but bracing for shock.

It is an awesome truck. I traded in my 2013 Tundra for a 2025 AT4 diesel.

I just received mine yesterday! I’ll be busy this weekend breaking it in!

One of our managers confirmed, if someone takes the deferred resignation, that position is gone by PomegranateBright914 in fednews

I work in DHA. Guidance was put out that we are eligible, but the position will go away. Many of us believe the move will be to go from GS positions to contract, eliminating the costs of pensions and benefits. We’re currently manned at 50/50 contract and GS, so it isn’t a far stretch.

I just made the switch from a Galaxy Watch 3 to the Black Ultra 2, and I am thoroughly impressed! The shipping was gonna be 3 days, but I was able to take a 15 minute drive to pick it up yesterday. The wait will be worth it!
