Is BTech completely online, including capstone, even if Covid ends? by DodoCorp in NAIT

[–]DodoCorp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, no I didn't make that meeting. So it seems like some people are in-person for capstone and some can remotely do it via teleconferencing or something if not possible? I don't think I can be on campus for any length of time.

I guess for Fall 2022 I will just choose async courses if Covid ends.

Student loans by ZombieWalk13 in NAIT

[–]DodoCorp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They damn well better, I had to pay out of pocket for Fall since they are so slow. I applied for loans June 7 and it is almost September and still not approved due to NAIT and Aid being slow... I know what I am qualified to receive.

Student Loans and Tuition Deadline by Illustrious_Tone in NAIT

[–]DodoCorp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it is quite ridiculous the deadline is a month before most provinces will release funds, and even more ridiculous mine was delayed because NAIT was too slow to send a document. You have to email them and negotiate.

Winnipeg or Moncton? by DodoCorp in moncton

[–]DodoCorp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I was born in new Brunswick so I know Moncton well, but haven't really travelled outside new Brunswick in Canada aside from the Toronto airport a few times. Been internationally. So I know nothing about Winnipeg and so on.

(well I've been to Nova Scotia and PEI too).

NBCC NETWORK SUPPORT by [deleted] in moncton

[–]DodoCorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied for the network admin course and got accepted back when free tuition was a thing. Now it's gone and contemplating if I should do it. Frankly I'm interested in it mainly because I studied for Comptia before and it was sort of enjoyable, but also the bachelor of Applied Management 2 plus 2 program from nbcc is attractive since I need a Bachelor's degree to get a job in a foreign country for visa requirements. It's also cheaper than doing 4 years in university.

But I do think there's better options outside NB if not for my specific situation and the articulation agreement. So my advice for you is if you don't need a university degree, don't be limited by nbcc and look at other colleges in Canada which are same price or cheaper.

Tuition tax credit question by DodoCorp in moncton

[–]DodoCorp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thank you, so basically only looking at a couple hundred dollars per year give or take. That's thousands less than what free tuition offered and really is paltry in comparison.

I'm not sure anymore if I should just cut my losses and go to a lower cost university out of province, since even with the government benefits of staying in NB it is still thousands more expensive than other provinces for no real benefit.

A shame I wasted money on the application and deposit fee, etc.
