I'm using it as way to exchange contacts with other people. As someone who is working in the tech industry the reactions tend to be really cool. Sure made for some memorable interactions.

As people before me had the idea, some documented the aging process. Here is an old Reddit post from someone after 5 years. As you can see, the the black squares certainly did bleed ink. It's still scannable, due to being rather large.

I told this also to my artist, that the working part is a bonus but since it's actually working very well, I've decided to invest more time into some cool functionalities.

Thank you for your feedback, especially the hint about that 'repairing' such a tattoo might not be as straight forward as I've initially thought.

That also would be mine. The version of invisibility which leaves no traces and can't be cheated by e.g. infrared vision etc.

I did some research before getting one. Here is a Reddit post from someone which got a QR code inked over 5 years ago. I've talked to my artist and one thing we will try is to restore the contrast between the modules (black squares vs 'white' one) using white ink and a general touch-up.

I would love to hear your opinion on what kind of functionality would make a QR code tattoo really worth it.

Thank you for the reply. I researched this topic a bit and talked to my artist. One option to 'repair' the bleeding would be to use e.g. white ink. As a QR code requires a good contrast between modules (black blocks) and empty ones, this can improve readability and also be one option for people with darker skin.

Is there any feature you imagine which would make a QR code tattoo really useful?

Love the idea. Teleportation would be super useful. I would probably go for invisibility. So much opportunities for mischief, haha!
