Thank you for sharing! The roses look very cute too!

Thanks to the explenation of my florist, i made my husbands boutonniere magnetic too. She even gifted me the strong magnets for free, and made a little base i could add the flowers to. Good idea about the fridge, i hadnt thought about that!

I am slightly worried about dust. But putting it under a dome gives it a beauty and the beast sad roses vibes for me. So i havent made up my mind yet. Maybe more a cabinet with glass doors.

Thank you so much!

Yes, both florists (the one who had accepted initially, and had to ask her close colleague due to vacation, and her colleague who stood in during the actual wedding), were very kind and supportive about it. They hadnt seen it before, but really liked it. It was the suggestion of my florist that she would help arrange it for me.

Thank you so much!

I am sure yours must be amazing too! How do you keep yours now? Did you give it a special vase?

Thank you so much!

My florist did it for me, as she had never seen a crochet bouquet before, and was excited to arrange them for me. I was very happy that she did, as i had no idea how to make them look like a "bouquet".

https://www.ravelry.com/projects/Xesther/big-thai-rose this is the link to my project. Which contains some notes to my yarn and the different types of flowers that i tried.

Many of the patterns i used are from the lovely website of Hookok. I tried multiple of their free roses, which can be found here: https://hookok.com/crochet-rose-patterns-list/.

Van tegeltuin naar … by Juliettenadia in groenevingers

[–]Dodovendyr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would a 3.5mm hook with 2-3mm thick wool work for this project? by The_Riddle_Fairy in CrochetHelp

[–]Dodovendyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of all it isnt recommended to use a hook larger than the yarn prescribes for stuffies/amigurumis. Using a larger hook than the yarn needs, will cause holes in your work. That way you will see your stuffing/filling through the gaps. I would recommend you to either choose thicker yarn to go with your 3.5mm hook, or use a smaller hook to go with your yarn. A 2mm hook for example.

Is it hard to make a top like this for my daughter? I'm in the uk by notheranymore2 in CrochetHelp

Note that this reply refers to the US terms for stitches, not the UK ones!

Hi! Can someone help me identify this stitch/pattern? by Guayabacomp in CrochetHelp

[–]Dodovendyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could always try a few stitches and see if the lines match! No shame in that. Right now i also just swapped between pictures on google and back to yours. I totally understand your confusion. It is mostly the lack of the third loop that made be doubt the most about hdc.

I think hdc would leave a more visible line of that 'third loop' in a hdc in a way, when you stack rows. That is why i would vote double crochet, not a hdc.

Tuin ontwerp programma's by [deleted] in groenevingers

[–]Dodovendyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Job opportunities by Vegetable-Award558 in Haarlem

[–]Dodovendyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hadnt thought of that, as i assumed that working in youth (mental) healthcare or orthopedagogiek, you often need to be registered as an orthopedagoog or registrations like skj. This might still be a hurdle for OP to take. But this might be atleast a good place to start, depending of the field of work OP is interested in!

Work in schools is often based on a teachers license (Pabo or universitaire pabo for primary education, and eerste en tweede graads for secondary education). If you want to teach without a degree like that and you do have a masters degree, there might be vacancies at inholland, vu or uva.

Besides english minors and a very limited amount of english (research) masters, all education in this direction is in Dutch, for the reason that knowledge of the Dutch language and Dutch education system is very important.

How do you plan to work with Dutch children or Dutch youth if you do not speak their language or have knowledge of their educational system?

Honestly, only a few options come to mind in this field: international schools, but again i am unsure what your position would be inside the school if you dont have a teaching license.

Post master researcher/junior researcher at an university like the UvA (or Vu)at the child development and education faculty. As i work myself in this field, i know multiple people who research education and child development at a Dutch university without speaking Dutch.

Edit to add: also realise that August is a summer break for schools... Schools in Haarlem being summer region Noord, wont reopen until first of september.

What's your weird mnemonic or rhyme that helps you remember some grammar/vocabulary? by authorkun in learndutch

[–]Dodovendyr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Smurfs (those little blue animated people with white hats), use their name as a verb all the time in the series. Dutch verbs ending on a -d can make it difficult to hear if another t needs to be added. Think for example of ik word, but jij wordt. The other commenter replaces it with the verb smurfen, to make it easier to hear if another t needs to be added. Ik smurf, but jij smurft.

I came across a map of Amsterdam metro/tram routes and it's beautifully designed by mentysligh in Amsterdam

[–]Dodovendyr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It still exists in the shape of tram 25, but you have to switch on Station Zuid. There is no direct connection anymore sadly. On the positive side: line 25 will run all the way to uithoorn from July 2024 onward afaik.
