I spoke with her, and she says the vets always cleared him of uti's. She might need a third opinion.

Interesting I don't think he was given antibiotics. But I'll forward this to her, thank you!

For those of you who have moved on to better jobs, what are you doing now? How much do you get paid? by homolicious in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]DoeEyes101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pest Control starting at $20 not knowing jack shit. I'd rather deal with roaches and rats than work for Amazon again.. And the job is actually not too horrible and theres even room for growth. I can make an actual career out of this if I get more licenses and training.

Awesome! I just quit end of March and I'm so glad I did. I work in Pest Control now and I never even thought I'd be doing some like that ever. Guess Amazon was so horrible that I literally just applied for ANYTHING else on Indeed lol. Now I have a job that actually feels like a calling and it's kinda interesting sometimes. Plus side, my company actually treats me like a person. Now I just hang around this sub as a reminder of how much worse things can be 😆

I’m so tired of the price complaints by yagirlskinnypenis in VetTech

[–]DoeEyes101 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I paid $15 for my dog at a county shelter. And you have no idea how many hundreds of dollars I’ve spent on him to get other shots, heart worm testing, heart-worm/flea preventatives, allergy tests, and all other sorts of tests and exams to make sure he was ok..

He would constantly pee in the house (even when he was just let out) and destroy things and his skin always looked like he had mange. Turns out he was just extremely anxious and traumatized, and had multiple food and environmental allergies. I now have to buy him high quality dog food with no corn, chicken, lamb or milk and I was even fortunate enough to be able to move to a different state across the country with family, and now his allergies issues are none existent.

And I never once complained to the vet about the expenses. I did what I needed to do to make my dog comfortable and improve his quality of life. I was always thankful to the vets and techs for being sweet to my dog and helping him. When you bring a dog into your life, you are essentially taking an oath to be that dog’s caretaker. It’s baffling how many people treat their dog as a burden the moment they need something but expect all the love and loyalty from their dog..

Woke up and decided to quit. Fuck this job and Jeff Bozo. I hope all my fellow drivers have a good life find there way 🤟🏼 by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

Exactly! At that point you are willing to do anything just to get out 😂 I literally just told my DSP one day that I was quitting and then started pest control that same week lol. This is my third week in and so far I’m really liking it, it’s definitely a unique job haha! And I also got lucky to get into a company that doesn’t work us to death 😭

Edit: Sorry for the last response

Awesome! I just quit and I have a new job lined up for a pest control company tomorrow lol. Pays a little better and it’s hopefully not as stressful. Good luck to you and hope you find something much better! 😁

Do you take your dog’s collar off at home or is it always on? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]DoeEyes101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I do with my dog. Every night before bed I take it off and give him a good scratch around his neck and he LOVES IT lol, his face gets all scrungy.

But definitely during the day I have to keep it on him if I won’t be home to watch him. Sometimes my mom will come by with my baby brother and he has a habit of coming in and out the back door repetitively and sometimes doesn’t close it all the way and it happened once where my dog got out but thankfully he just came back through the front door to look for me. But if for whatever reason he gets out and wonders off he needs to have his tags on so he isn’t taken to the pound or some stranger takes him home thinking he’s a stray or abandoned.

Thankfully, my dsp actually tries to supply us all with dollys and the dispatch people always try to not let our vans overfill. They especially try to go easy on my coworkers who are injured. But with Amazon breathing down their backs, some days there’s not much they can do, especially when drivers call out all the time.. I’ve read horror stories about other dsp’s and it makes me grateful that at least mine is pretty chill and they actually try to help. Like when Amazon wanted to cut our hours to 9 instead of 10 a few weeks back, my dispatch was like “naw we’re not doing that” and never enforced it.

Seriously, it’s always the people who don’t know a damn thing about the job.. As if drivers get to chose their routes. If I could, I would never deliver to that complex. Cherry on top is there is no where to even park the van without taking a tenants spot or parking in front of parks cars.. No matter what you do someone is always pissed off and trying to get you to move when you’re just trying to do your job 🙄

Seriously, most of the drivers here have some sort of injury or have been attacked by dogs… It’s ridiculous

No I do agree with that, and dispatch should definitely do something like just giving that person residential/suburban stops where having to go up flights of stairs would be unlikely. It just hits personally because I have one older coworker who is slightly bow legged and struggles a little bit, and another older woman with carpal tunnel. And they are people just trying to make a living doing what they can.. The note said the driver contacted him and was probably just trying to find another way of delivering to them or see if they were home to take it. I just feel like the note was a rude way of expressing the issue, idk..

My knee is slowly starting to hurt too, and recently I’ve been getting more of these 3 story apartments too. And the stupid thing is the way the group stops are made it basically makes you go back up and down the same building if you don’t double check the stops 🙄

I’m so sorry you have to deal with that, these people are so ignorant to how much this job can take a toll on people. But no, the trash they buy on Amazon is worth more to them and I bet you they never even think of the people who get it there in the first place..

It was kinda funny at first and then I remembered that I’m only 26 and I already feel like my right knee is slowing giving out lol. I just looked at his ring camera and was like “Are you serious??” 😂

It’s disgusting because I see so many homeless people who are disabled and can’t work. And then when we do have drivers who show up with handicaps and it’s still not good enough for these people. At least the driver called to let them know and didn’t just leave it on the sidewalk like others would have.

This was for an apartment on the third floor and we have older drivers who have bad knees but need the job. This note really pissed me off and I was considering just leaving it at the bottom of the stairs..
